Hell yea this should be awesome.

I saw it on tap at Liberty Station in January when I was out there but did not try it due to the crazy amounts of IPAs they had on tap that I had never even heard of.

I was mad I didn't try it but now it looks like I will get my chance.

Count me in! What else is new? Lol!

Stone knows best! They are hitting on all cylinders this year so far. As I sit here and drink an EB 7.04.14, I continue to be impressed at the quality they pump out in quantity. Loved the Saison and I'm sure the Milk Stout will be good too. I'm sure hoping they build in VA.

A new beer from Stone, and it's not hoppy?

Is this...is this real life? What the hell happened?

I it's akin to something Samuel Smith's would brew...a very UK inspired stout. Not boozy...really smooth. Layers open up as it comes to room temp. Not sure how close the bottled version will be to the small batch brew Brian did.

Interesting to see Stone go away from Hoppy beers for their many of their recent releases. The Saison and now a milk stout as their seasonal beers, plus the seasonal smoked porter variant releases, the Quato-whatevical they just released, etc. Granted they did back to back colab IPAs, Go-To is year round and Enjoy-By might as well be, and RuinTen is on deck as well, but I'm happy to see them branch out.

Pretty excited about this one as a) I love coffee and b) Stone's Espresso Russian Imperial Stout was the best coffee beer I can remember drinking. In terms of the coffee flavor, it was better than BCBCS (and I love Intelligentsia), Bomb, Founders Breakfast Stout, everything else I've tried; even this Peche Mortel I'm drinking right now.

In my opinion, a session beer must be easy to drink. If you put good quality ingredients and price go up a bit, but still easily drinkable, its still a session beer. For me, that's the difference between a good quality session ale and a crapy macro beer.

I love this beer, and always having been a fan of stone, especially the stuff they've put out recently, this will be an insta-buy for me.

Yeah.....and? Not sure which post you're replying to, but it's not mine. My point is if your beer is 4% alc, shouldn't it be cheaper than your 7%+ beers? That's all. Less ABV = less ingredients, less time.

    This reply is about beer.

Coffee milk is the state drink of Rhode Island and I have drank much of it in my day. I'm excited to see Stone do a beer that reminds me of this drink of my childhood.

    This reply was about beer.

Session stouts have always been a thing, until us American had to get Double/Imperial stout crazy.

I hope they make more of that coffee variant. Did not get a chance to try it in the Spring.

Less ABV doesn't necessarily mean less ingredients. It means less malt, but coffee and other ingredients (lactose sugar for the "milk stout" quality for example) still cost money.
