Thanks now I know I am not going crazy. If you look at the new IIPA it just says the name of if and not Thumbprint. Not sure if that matters anymore if we know it.

Still waiting to try that one. Probably won't get to Tyranena until the end of July, though.

I don't remember it saying Thumbprint in the past- only that it was known as the "Thumbprint" series because of the thumbprint within the Wisco on the label.

Yep, that and the signature red color. And I guess being in 4 packs, haha.

I liked the old labels/foil. The new ones do look nice, though, especially Scream with the eagle on the label.

I agree. The foil was a nice touch that make it more eye-catching, but the new ones are more clean/professional looking.

I'm pouring for Tyranena at the Wisconsin Beer Festival today. we will have the Citra imperial for all to enjoy. Toni of Black Husky will have both versions of Howler if you care to compare. Tom brought bottles of Bunny Green Toes to the Pre-festival brewer get-together last night. Delicious. not sure if that will be at the festival. Central Waters usually brings some Illumination. Wisconsins best will shine today

I wish I could make it! I live a few blocks away, but I'll be working in the bowels of of the Milwaukee Public Museum on this sunny Saturday :slight_frown:

This beer is the bomb. I put it in the Pseudo Sue/King Sue range of IPA's. Very citrus with just the right bitter. Kinda different from last year's IIPA, but I loved both.

Pseudo Sue is a pale ale.

Had my first Scream today and it immediately reminded me of Hop JuJu.

I don't think that Scream is a better beer than pseudoSue- they're very different styles. pseudo is all about being an APA along the lines of Zombie Dust. Lots of citrus hops, some cloudiness w/ hop residue, and a moderate abv and massive hop burst from dry hopping.

Scream is a slightly Midwestern take on IIPA's like Pliny. It has a touch more English to it than Pliny with the addition of some British Malts and a nice, attractive malt body. Sweet as a peanut butter cup but you don't realize it because the hops are pushing it off your palate the way they should be in a IIPA.

So- I would happily pick up either of these beers and drink them happily. They're both awesome in my book.

Wow, I was blown away by Scream. Excellent excellent DIPA and probably the best one I've had since Abrasive finished up in January.

I'm leaving for a 2 week vacation this week, so I really hope this stuff doesn't change much in that time. First thing I'm going to do when I get back is pick up a case. Love it!

I have a feeling that it will hang around in stores for about a month- there is an increasing number of hopheads in Wisco, but NG distributes widely enough across that state that out-of-the-way shops will probably have this beer (as they do for most of the Thumbprint series) for a little while.

The absolute best IIPA I've ever had. I'll trade HT allll day long for this.

Yeah I'm sure there will be plenty especially at Woodmans, but I'm hoping the flavor doesn't go downhill fast. I loved CW Illumination and Lakefront Johnson fresh, but after about a month, they were both on a steep decline.

I have faith that Scream will hold up a bit better- I don't get any of the "oily" hop undertones that both Johnson and Illumination carry. It will change, of course, but Scream seems to be built more like GF's Imperials- they usually last 3-4 months before they go downhill.
