If it was sold in bomber format it would be considered a good deal.

I bought a 4 pack of them for $21 roughly with tax. I buy one 4 pack of kbs, and 1 of DD each year. This years dd, was not the same as '13. I personally enjoy them, but imo not worth stocking up on to many.

Saw it tonight for $20.99. I actually took a picture because I was so appalled by the price tag. I have a feeling those two cases will be sitting there a while.

Paid 17.99 for the 4 pack mostly out of curiosity. Its good but would not seek it out again for that kind of money. Dirt Wolf, Hoptimum and Burton Baton have good availability, cost less and are outstanding IIPA's.

Had Devil Dancer on draft today, quite excellent, but only picked up a single bottle to take home at $6 - really enjoyed the draft, a lot of boozy sweet flavor in it fighting with the hops. Barleywine? DFH 120? Yeah, I can see the comparisons, but this was heading away from the 120 towards a hoppy barleywine.

Would an SN Bigfoot comparison be more appropriate?

I buy a four-pack every year despite the price tag; unfortunately we live in a time when the price can be dictated by popularity/demand and store owners definitely take advantage of beer hunters.

As far as taste I'd say ignore the label classification and enjoy it for what it is; the hate for this beer is a little over the top....

My store in Venice FL paid $61 for our case of DD, that's just over $10 per 4-pack. We sell it for $12.99 a 4-pack. Any questions?

double crooked tree is more like a barleywine / 90 minute. it's great.

devil dancer usually tastes like summit hops, aka weed, garlic, onions, with some sweetness underneath. this year it was weird and just tasted like sugar. i was angry.

So then the distributor lost money. It cost retailers $88\case in Indiana. Any questions?

Just tried my first of the year. Pretty much exactly the same as it always is fresh, with the exception of two years ago I think when it did taste super oniony. I personally like it even though it doesn't have the typical profile of a of (T)DIPA. This beer in my experience tastes very different fresh than it does with a couple of months on it, and is a solid candidate for some aging.

I'm somewhere in Ohio right now, and I passed on the clerk's recommendation yesterday when I saw the $6/bottle price. I was pretty sure I wouldn't like it over twice as much as virtually every other beer on the shelf, so I simply left it for someone with deeper pockets and different tastes. No big deal.

I am not paying $20 for a four pack. Ain't happening.

As long as people DO pay, they WILL charge. I can get more absolutely outstanding beer for the money, and I will.

I do not need to be part of the "in crowd". Those who love it, and have no problem with the tag, more power to you. Those who buy it cause it is trendy, well....hope it was worth it. You can pick up my 4 pk. It is still on the shelf.

No, it's more expensive than $61 for retailers in Michigan (maybe a MI retailer could list their exact cost?). Someone in Florida messed up. Good for the retailers, bad for whoever made the mistake.
