I don't know--I recall a cab ride that went through a deserted warehouse district--we were sure the cabbies buddies were waiting to rob and murder us. We ended up at a club where my buddy's wallet got lifted.

haha at least i know its not coming to me. i had to step aside for this round merely bc i got slammed with work this past month

 

Man...I hate car shopping. All the time I typically devote to this thread has been devoted to dealing w/ asshole dealers and scouring the internet for a car. That, coupled w/ the fact my car is dead for all intents and purposes, has made my last couple of weeks depressing.

You realize how hard it is to shop for @bruindre and @Brewzma when your wife has the car during the day?!?!

Once you figure out the kind of car you want, e-mail all of those dealers in the area. Give them two rounds of bidding. Lowest price at the end of round 2 is where you buy. Show up with a cashier's check so they can't hit you with extras. That's how I've bought my last few cars. If financing make them lay it out on the table before you waste your time sitting at the dealerships. Put the negotiating power on your end, not theirs.

 

So what are the ramifications of sending more then 4???

 

Yeah, we're buying used so it's a bit tougher but this is essentially what I'm doing. Almost had one on Saturday...I had everything laid out in the email and agreed to, go in to pay and they played dumb/confused when it was 2K higher than what we agreed to so we had to walk. I hate these bastards.

 

Last I heard was a sternly worded e-mail and a box full of Wolf Spiders.
