Have you had any and how were they?

I really want to try the Windsor and Eton ones, and perhaps the M&S one. I know the co-op are doing one too.

I have a Castle Rock Diamond Reign offering ingredients from all over the commonwealth to make the perfect ale.

Also the Co-Op Simply irresistible/Freeminer Jubilation was alright, for the price.

Was just wondering whether to start a topic on Diamond Reign! Just picked one up, will try it later - not had much/any from the Castle Rock brewery, so looking forward to it.

Not sure who else is doing Jubilee beers though - may look into the Co-op and M&S ones though.

Picked up the Morrisons one today brewed by Marstons, so I don't hold out much hope. I have to say the M&S one far exceeded my expectations.

I've had the first W&E one a few times, the treetops stout. It's very good! Roasty / coffee - top stuff!

The Kohinoor has just been released and I shall seek it out once I'm back from my holiday

I might have to revisit it to remind myself. Kind of a bready brownish ale. It might sound a weird thing to say, but I seem to remember that it reminded me of Oakham beers...

When you think about the alternatives such as President Kinnock or President Thatcher it would be a poorly selling brew.Part of the celebration is about having a Head of State who has served faultlessly and isn't a grubby politician.

Faultlessly perfect or grubbily political, like the grown up I am I'd like to be in control of my destiny with a choice of my head of state. Its about time we in the UK joined the 20th Century.
As for the protocol, I bow to no one.

It's nice to have someone to be proud of though. I admit she doesn't do anything in term of running the country but i'd rather bow to her than those snivelling greedy liars who call themselves our representatives.

Yes i'm old fashioned and proud. Call me a silly old duffer!

I'm a new world old world man who is pretty old fashioned about almost everything too. Except when it comes to the notion of monarchy. I suspect all that Covenanter and Huguenot blood in me doesn't help matters much either.

I really shouldn't be like this, being surprisingly closely related to the 35th president of the USA  I'm a man of extremes, i'd like either full blown monarchy or full blown (actual, not USSR style) communism. To me the democracy we have now is a bit of a cop out where they're just trying to make us think we're free when in truth it makes not much difference what we vote for.

    /soapbox.

Americans aren't really in control of their own destiny regarding their President, that's simply a delusion. They have to vote from a short list prepared by a cabal.Neither do we choose our Prime Minister. Our previous Prime Minister got the job without any public consultation.
But I also take the pragmatic approach.Monarchy works despite its faults.See the Queen in Ireland last year doing a job no politician would have been able to contemplate because she is outside of politics.
And she is rightly or wrongly our Head of State-asked by Parliament to be so-and deserves repect because of this.
