New Glarus IIPA (Scream?) Release Info

Very strange release. Usually Ray's & Discount put up facebook posts if they have limited amounts of sought-after beer. This one slipped in under the radar I guess?

Don't forget about Sendik's. I'll be at Whitefish Bay tonight, I'll post if they still have some left. As of Saturday Night Discount had it on the shelves, but they didn't have much- it was outnumbered 5-1 by the Dubbel & Berliner Weiss. Maybe this will be shipped more than once?

Otherwise, the Public Market might be your best bet. Not a lot of "beer guys" do their beer shopping there, more of a tourist spot. Some shops are sold out, other shops haven't even gotten it yet- something doesn't add up.

 

I just gave Avenue a call... they had 2 cases ordered to deliver today that did not get delivered because the distributor, Beechwood, is out of stock... I don't like the feeling I'm getting right now.

 

This is pretty typical for Beechwood and Capitol distributors. Most shop owners I talk to don't really know what they're going to get or when they're going to get it. It's a hold-over from the pre-craft days when it really didn't matter when beer was delivered.

I have no reason to believe that this beer will be any less plentiful than the first two Thumbprint beers distributed this year. I think it will be more in demand, but I'm going to hold onto hope that eventually it will be on every grocery store shelf that normally carries TP series beers.

 

Just called Discount. They have it for $9.49/4 banger. Give a shout if you trip up on it this evening as well be leaving tmr AM. Thanks!

 

yeah... that "I don't see it on the shelf" comment sounded like some bullshit an employee who gave no fux would tell you. They saw the Darwensi 847 area code and decided to stiff arm him.

 

I noticed that Ray's seems to run out of beers faster than many other shops around town. Do they not order enough? Are they just better at getting people into their shop? Are there more craft beer hounds in Tosa than other parts of town?

Anyone know about Kenosha Woodmans?

 

I would guess that all Woodman's rec'd their shipments by now. I highly, highly doubt that it won't go to all Woodman's. They buy NG by the boatload.

 

I know that Oak Creek Woodmans is now one case lighter. Looked to be at least one more in the stack plus about one in the cooler.

 

MKE Public Market still has some 4-packs left, and it's on tap there as well (for growler fills also if you ask nicely).

As great as it is bottled, it blew my mind on tap. Much more rich and with a nice dankness that I didn't get from the bottle.

 

Sounds like we may be enjoying this one for the rest of the year!!! Dan made 500 barrels and may make more.

I have it on good authority that there is a second batch already in fermentation. This is very good news.

It's been plenty warm in the Madison area. I know that Milwaukee won't warm until August since Lake Michigan was ice covered for so long this year.
