Friday was awesome. We got there early, but enjoyed the day, and the tapping of pretty much every beer I wanted at 4:30 made for a real fun time. Those eisbocks, wow.

maybe the locals who go to the pub consistently and constantly do not want to wait in lines and watch BROS change a shirt to buy more .rar beer.

Well then maybe the locals should stop feeling so entitled and get their beer like everyone else. There was probably 1/2 the crowd at summer solstice this year versus last, and I saw people go through the twice wearing the same shit. Kuhnhenn is making money, so they're happy, so who gives a fuck. Get over yourself. I bought 2 four packs, not for the ".rar" but because I traveled from Georgia and want to take plenty back. Does that make me a bad person? Sorry I don't plan to trade it away or sell it, does that make me a bad person too?

go to kuhnhenn during the day on a week day vs during a solstice and you will see why some people may like not being around a large crowd. Get there beer like everyone else? Why does it have to involve a line? Kuhnhenn would have made the same amount of money if they had sold 4 packs through the week, so who gives a fuck.

I go to kuhnhenn a lot during the week during 9-5 hours when most ppl are working and most of the time it's busier than it was today. If u say 5p-? Then it's always been busier than it was today...plain and simple if there is a release date and time and you WANT that release then go there and get it!

Ps had a great time today, some cool beers and even cooler ppl. Cheers

I love Kuhnhenn beers and because of work I couldn't make it today, my friend went back in line again to grab some for me and he is charging me exactly what he paid for it, he didn't do it to piss any one off or to make money he was just trying to be a good friend. I appreciate him doing that for me and I will enjoy every single beer I get from him.
    Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!

To me, it wasn't the fact of going back for more beer, it was HOW some peeps did it that simply made me laugh.

Had another amazing time at Kuhnhenn Friday/Saturday!

Friday's tap list was quite the chore....but, we managed to drink all that we desired and then some! I went back for a second pour of that MI Cherry Coffee Stout. Gotdamn that awesome!

Saturday was very chill. The bottle release was very smooth. No real complaints. And, yes, I did wait until the line died out, then asked if it was okay to buy another 4-pack. The staff had no issue with it....so, my buddy and I split another 4-pack..and we each left with a 6-pack (3 of each beer).

I would have driven 3 hours across the state just to drink off the taps and enjoy the company of other like-minded geeks. Getting to bring home an extra beer of each was just icing on the cake. Sorry if I upset anybody by doing this....but, I love Kuhnhenn beer as much as the next person. Living 3 hours away and not being "local" just makes it tougher for me to enjoy their beer more regularly. Glad I can stretch my enjoyment a little further now.

As far as the beers released on Saturday, here are my quick thoughts:

Summer Wonder- Imperial Helles Bock?! Holy Shit!!! This beer surprised me the most. Very fruity nose...smelled like fruit punch. Tasted every bit as delicious as it smelled. Almost zero trace of alcohol. Very dangerous at 13.5%.

Solstice Stout- jebus. What a blend. Had all the molasses, leather and dark fruit of 4D and just enough body, sherry and roasted malt from the Solar Eclipse to give your palate a left turn about halfway through the sip. Had a good amount of bourbon on the nose and through the finish, but not overpowering.

Nice Melons- the watermelon hefeweizen.....wow! As soon as the pour was placed on the counter, I could smell the watermelon bubblegum wafting across to my nose. Tasted like watermelons. Fresh-cut. Had a great balance of wheat and malt to keep this beer from going into "gimmick" territory. Stayed true to style and added a unique twist. Really, really fucking good! (And, I am not usually a fan of this style)

Tropic Thunder- good, but too much coconut for my tastes. Other were raving about it.

MI Cherry Saison- good, but seemed to fall off in the finish. Wasn't as sharp as the Lemon/Sorachi Ace Saison, which I thought was a bit more defined in terms of the crisp finish.

Mayan Chocolate Stout- another good stout, but next to the MI Cherry Coffee, it played second fiddle. Had a nice and dry mouthfeel with the bakers chocolate and coffee at the forefront. Wished the peppers cut through a bit more.

Exotic Fruit Sparkling Wine- had to try it. This is not your Bartles and Jaymes sparkling wine cooler.....although, it smells and tastes like kool-aid. Great carbonation, great flavor....and at 8% ABV, it would knock you on your ass if a session was attempted.

Alright, enough of my rambling.....great to see some old faces and meet some new ones!

Awesome party and release this year! Everything ran smoothly and had a "chill" atmosphere this year, which was cool. Solstice Stout was crazy good! And Summer Wonder was pretty bomb too! All of the beers were pretty solid, really.

Hung out with a ton of great people on a beautiful day and got to meet a couple of new BAs as well. @niner99 , can't wait to meet up at MBG Summer Fest. It was good meeting you and your wife!

It wasn't a secret that people were getting back in line, it was pretty obvious to see & funny enough, the shenanigans weren't necessary. The 4 pks were around a long time because I just looked at one of my receipts & I bought an additional 4 pk at 5pm while I was sitting at the bar & had my original 4 pk sitting right in front of me

I wish I could have gotten there Fri night for that crazy tap list but I loved everything that was on Saturday so no complaints at all. A nice laid back release w/plenty of space and well run as far as I'm concerned

Had a great time on Saturday. I was guilty of getting back in line to buy another 4 pack but only after I asked one of the waitresses if it was alright. I didnt feel like I was cheating or pimping the system and was pretty pumped to get it. Enjoyed the solstice beers at the tent. Thanks to all the cool people who worked it and brewed the tasty beers!

I really don't understand the bitterness towards people going through a line twice. If every person in line gets their beer, and there is no line, and they do not stop you from going back through for more at that point, why do any of you give a shit that they want to spend more of their own money to buy beer? No one gets shut out if you showed up at open. Shitting on traders and beer lovers, losing respect for someone that you know because they bought more beer after the line is gone is ridiculous to me. Though the guys changing their clothes to skirt rules is a bit ridiculous as well, but if you pass through twice normally and they just let you, thats a brewery issue.

The problem is that it was happening while there was still a long line and there were people who didn't get their 4 pack yet at that point. Also the ridiculousness of changing clothes and everything was a bit much.

If you got more after the line was through then it's no problem especially if the workers said it was ok. But this was happening before that fact. Some of the people doing it surprised me as again they typically come off as solid BA's and traders.

Oh well it's done and over.

if you go to kuhnhenn M-F 11 A.M. - 3 P.M. its a ghost town, just a few souls and the brewers brewing beer.

Can I just say I cracked open a Solstice BA and it's amazing. Really might be one of the better ones I've had. Incredible.

I wish I had noticed they had it on tap so I could have saved opening this but man this is a damn good sipper

I've went before three and while there wasn't 100s of ppl there , there was I'd say in the 20s, I guess my point was if there is a release and ya want it, go? I wanted BA cherry stout bad but couldn't make it any time that week and I got over it quickly.

I try to work there one afternoon a week. 20 sounds about right. The earlier in the week, the less people. Friday afternoon is obviously the busiest of the weekdays.

Locals have been going through the line multiple times at releases for years.
