I love this only because I somehow ended up with a 4 bottle shipper. I had no idea how I would ever use that thing.

 

Beats the 3 bottle shipper I've got laying around, I figure I'll break it into 3 single-size (it's 3 in a row, would be easy) to use for glassware...

 

I feel like drinking beer out of Styrofoam would be gross

 

It's not as bad as you think as long as you don't let it sit around... after a while the styrofoam starts to dissolve into the beer...

taking a break from dissertation writing to check in on the results of repitching champagne yeast to my cinnamon vanilla bourbon imperial stout.

Verdict: success! Not sure if it's fully finished carbing, but it's definitely carbed now, although the head retention is a little weak. It's still a little cold so I'm not getting the full effect of the beer, but it's tasty. Definitely an upgrade from the flat version.

Some bottles of this will be finding their way out to people. If you received one of the flat bottles, let me know and I will see what I can budget for apology/replacement boxes. @zekeman17 @ThreeFishes ... and I don't know for sure who else.

 

Well done! Champagne yeast is such a fix-all. This sounds delicious so I'll hope to, for some reason or another, get a box from you soon!

 

Oh, don't worry. A box is coming. It isn't packed yet because seriously-fuck-writing-dissertations but it's coming and will be worth the wait.

Good to hear, I'll be bottling my cofee vanilla bourbon barrel stout soon and was thinking of trying champagne yeast for the first time. You'll never get good head retention when doing a BBA whatever, at least not in my experiences. If you feel the need for some feedback on it (BJCP certified), box up a few bottles, and I'll send you a label, or I can just reciprocate when my brew is bottled and carbed.

 

So, I don't know if anyone lives close to Framingham, MA but is there a kind soul out there who might be picking up some of the Jack's Abby Framinghammer variants that are releasing soon and be willing to get some to trade to me (pending bottle limits of course)? My regular JA hook-up is having a baby any day now and I'd feel horrible asking them to #goandpickitupforme.

To paraphrase: *ahem* I don't know who you are and I don't know what you exactly want, but what I do have are a very particular set of beers. Beers I have acquired over time. Beers that make me a dream for people like you. If you get these bottles, that will be the end of it. I will not look for more, I will not pursue more. But if you don't, I will look for them, I will find them and I will make someone else extremely happy.
