@billhelm still leading with 7 points, @UcDru alone in 2nd place with 6.

Mini-BIF update: I looked at the scenarios this morning and based on everyone's picks only @UcDru can catch @billhelm

billhelm has 9 pts and picked Belgium, Korea, Portugal today
UcDru has 7 pts and picked Belgium, Draw, Draw today

If it comes to tie-breaker billhelm has 50, UcDru has 36. Through yesterdays game there have been 34 goals.

So unless both of those matches are draws, billhelm wins. If somehow they both are draws, then it comes down to goals, and UcDru (seemingly) has that tiebreaker sown up.

Unreal! USA blew it - watch Germany crush them now and Ghana beat Portugal 3-1 and they lose in Goal differential. F'n Bradley

Bradley blew this one too, I agree. He played poorly on the ball all game but his turnover of the ball in the 93rd minute is inexcusable. Had he cleared the ball over the end line, or even touch line they would have won. However he turned the ball over in the middle of the field and it turned into a goal against. And that's not speaking of his empty net miss early. Two games, twice poorly played by Bradley. The man that looked untouchable four years ago is a step slow at best.

Congrats @billhelm , now to the match I totally agree Bradley cost us in the end. It is so disappointing because he is probably one of our best players when he is on top of his game. He was stellar in qualifying and the friendlies leading up the World Cup but has been awful in both matches thus far. Couple his poor match with the early mistake they made and US still recovered well enough to win. If Bradley finishes that sitter or doesn't lose the ball in the middle of the field they qualify. Also US subs in Gonzalez specifically to challenge crosses and balls sent into the box and he was no where to be found on the final cross. This is a guy with fresh legs so there is no excuse for him to be that far out of his shape. Granted this is a non issue if Bradley doesn't lose it but still something I find inexcusable.

I hope this doesn't hurt them and they find a way to squeak out a point versus Germany or get a good result in the POR/GHA match. They have played well enough and deserve to advance. Klinsmans tactics have been spot on and the team for the most part is playing very well especially Timmy, Deuce and Fabian Johnson.

Not a bad consolation, since I'm going to be lucky to place anywhere near the top of this thing with Spain as my winner.

As I had the Dutch taking second in their division I am hoping that Chile can win this game and give them the second spot they deserve! Though probably a lot of people had them finishing second I guess.

funny you say that, was just thinking about how I could do this. I think I'll do picks for the round of 16, since the last round of group play is already underway. I like the picks format, gives it something else to follow along with.

This was probably the least interesting of the groups, looking forward to some of the others going forward. Mexico vs. Croatia is a good one.

    One again, paging:

    habahoseini

Does anyone know habahoseini? If I cannot identify the person, I will have to remove them from the group.

The referee in the Mexico/Croatia game has lost all control. He has missed some very blatant calls. While I do have Mexico advancing I'd feel very badly for them if they don't move on.
