And @TastyDelicousness, you are correct sir, in hockey if you lose in the SCF you won't die. BUT....you might not have a city to live in because supporters might have burned it down like a "certain" Western-Canadian team's fans did!

Ok so football is split into 4 quarters, soccer has 2 halfs (halves?), why isn't hockey 3 thirds?

Hockey is weird, and the fact that you can randomly start beating the shit out of another player is different...not bad, just weird.

Hockey had to be different with 3 periods. It separate's the men from the boys. Have to be different. They live by different rules than other sports athletes. Take a puck to the mouth, lose 7 teeth, jump back on the ice next shift. Take stitches to the face for a broken jaw, don't miss a game. So hockey has to have something to differentiate it

I mean, you can't be like soccer when someone gets remotely close to you, you fall down grabbing an appendage that wasn't even touched. Or if your a certain "king" of another sport, you decide that someone looking at you makes your knees weak and you fall down on the court....

Can I raise the stake to 2 cases of powered and once case of liquid? LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (BA needs a "why didn't I think of this first button" Cause I just read this and started dying at work! Cheers Z!

As a former rugger I can confirm it is the manliest sport, ipso facto, I am the manliest!

 

I played Rugby once. A friend who played convinced me it would be fun. He was about 5'6" and 200 lbs (picture a fire hydrant), I was 5'9" and 170, and not quite as fast as I thought I was. It hurt. A lot. Then we drank beer for a while and sang songs. The next day it hurt worse. I won the "post game walk of the week award".

I think hockey is the only sport with an uneven number of periods, that's weird to my weird face.
