So right after shipping out my box to the Netherlands, I picked mine up this morning... it's not from this BIF, but how would you all like a little pr0n?

 

I can't participate in the summer 6 pack right now, but would be up for another one in the fall. Hopefully I will have time to be more involved in the thread next time too.

In the meantime: the original idea was for six local beers that are great to drink in the summer (per kgncfl). We're going to stick with that. I'm sure many will include an extra or two (or three), but this is supported to be a mini/interim BIF. Having said that, I'm sure someone will ship 150 ounces of beer to their target.

If you want to participate, send me your name, mailing address, and your previous target if you participated in the first local BIF. Send me one style you like and one you do not like although the summer theme might eliminate some styles (BBA stouts in mid-July?). I'll rearrange everyone from the first round so you get a different target and receive from a different state. The shipping window is July 14th-August 4th. That is three weeks. We can shorten that window, but I wanted to leave plenty of time due to vacations and other activities common during the summer. We'll also get a steady trickle of beer pr0n that way.

Thoughts/complaints/ideas, post them.

 

I'm only lurking for the mini, but it all sounds good to me!

 

Of our 26 original participants, we have 15 who expressed interest in the mini-sixer (two of the names you have are new), and I think 5 said they will wait and lurk for now. The other six -- @billhelm, @NRo, @wheelzntoys, @Ncpogs, @Poorpatz, and @The_Craft_Deviant_Rob -- either haven't commented or seem to be on the fence? Do you think we should verify that they aren't interested in this one?

And I guess I don't know how to enforce a maximum, but I think we should try and not get TOO ridiculous since a lot of people are probably taking a break because of how much we shipped last time :-)

 

One other comment -- you probably want phone numbers too; I think Fedex requires that, at least when shipping to a residence (I know I had to contact my target for his # while I was in the middle of creating my shipping label for the Locals BIF)

 

Hey guys, I'm sorry I've been so silent in the thread lately but I've been traveling a bit and then for some reason my notifications stopped popping. Anyway, the summer 6er idea sounds like a lot of fun but I think I'm going to sit on the sidelines for this one. Like @Lehighace06 I think I'm just going to stalk this thread and see how it all goes. But I am definitely still interested in doing a fall BIF as well.

My original intent was 6 bottles, no more no less. Quick and easy and self control. Creativity can be with quality as well as size of bottles, so you can get to 150 oz, but you'll have to get there with 6 bottles. I'd open up the shipping early too (as soon as you set the targets.)

Maybe give until Sunday to be in or out?

Still just lurking in this, but IMO the other participants have had plenty of time to put in their .02, if they haven't spoken up either way so far, they probably have moved on from the thread; maybe we'll chase them down for the big round 2, but if it were me I wouldn't beat my head against a wall for this.

You might need to threaten people with a box of wolf spiders if you want them to stick to a specific bottle count... it's working for @Ol_Johnny_Skippelwicky in the SWTFYW thread where we have a 4 bottle max BIF going on (I thought about defying him, but I've had a change of heart...and the spiders)

 

I've always used my own phone number when I didn't have one and it's never been a problem, FWIW. But it is good to provide them.

 

I know this thread has been compared to the SWTFYW BIF, can anyone tell me what SWTFYW stands for? I've been trying to figure it out, but didn't feel like doing too much research at the moment. Am I dumb for not knowing this?

Also, complete side note, but it'd be so nice and easy if there was a way for me to share Instagram photos on BA
