They'll trade fine because most people who have tried it are not the ones who wants to try any and every BW beer.

It's ticketed because Jeffers wasn't pleased with how Bretta Rose/Stickee Monkee release went down with the huge lines in the tap room. Notice that it's split in two time periods.

At Barrelworks now and thought @UCLABrewN84 was spot-on with his review. Enjoy it more than Lil Opal whose bottle release I skipped completely. At $10.99 a bottle I will still scoop up the 4 max and be good.

Join us Saturday, July 12th for the Liberation of Bretta Weisse!

We are releasing our fourth bottled offering from Barrelworks and want some of our closest friends to celebrate with us! We're closing the doors to the public to allow guests to taste some new beers, take home our latest bottles (did we mention the latest vintage of Double DBA is being released that day too?!), and chat with the barrel-masterminds themselves.

The Liberation includes four bottles of Bretta Weisse, which retail for $10.99 plus tax & crv. Tickets go on sale Monday, June 30th at 8am.

For this limited release, we will have two sessions:

-11am to 1pm (bottles must be picked up by 12:30pm)

-3:30pm to 5:30pm (bottles must be picked up by 5pm)

Tickets include: four bottles of Bretta Weisse, souvenir tasting snifter, tastings of rare & one-off Barrelworks beers (while supplies last), and a 10% discount that day on food purchases at our Buellton Taproom Restaurant.

Barrelworks will not be open to the public. Two ticket maximum per purchase.

This should make releases more enjoyable, though, I kinda wish they had a DD option.

I like how Double DBA is really easy to get in stores.

Dang! They're really limiting this one. Not six bottles but 4. WOW!

Love Berliners. If you're going to be making a Berliner, it better be damn good, otherwise I will stick to my tried and true shelf Berliner 750ml Hottenroth for $7.49 a bottle

Yeah I was there and it was horrible. I was going to try a few things in the tasting room but that section looked even worse. I'm not sure if the restaurant has opened but they do need a lot more tables in the Barrel house.

Not sure which info is correct, but this indicates 4x 375ml bottles. Not that those extra 125ml (or 500ml over the 4 bottles) should make or break whether I go, but given the lukewarm reviews of BW... maybe I should be rooting for smaller bottles? Also, for people who've been to this sort of thing before... do the "tastings of rare & one-off Barrelworks beers" make it worth spending $60 to get ~$48 worth of (apparently not great) beer?

Probably not. But I live 20 min from Barrelworks so it's not like there are ton of other options in this area. I'm going and just hoping the "surprise liberation in addition to Bretta Weisse" that Jeffers mentioned a week ago is not DDBA, but something else entirely.

From what I have heard it is something else that is sour and isn't something I have seen in their taproom.

This is not the event you are thinking about attending (spoken like Obe Wan Kenobi).

Jeffers doesn't ever let me down. I'm game for it. I would have been at the release anyway since, well, any excuse to go to Barrelworks. But even though I'm not excited about the bottle release, the tasters are often stuff you wont find often. Hell, for Feral One, I had at least 10 pours of Parabola in the tasting party. All included with the price of buying 6 bottles. I can't complain.
