Pulled out the Alchemist Beezelbub, which was better fresh because it was so hoppy, but still delicious. I had a bunch of these, so I didn't mind throwing one to age for a little while. If I ever get this again, it'll definitely all be consumed fresh.

Also, the barrel-aged Framinghammer from Jacks Abby is drinking beautifully right now, as did Bean Gene by Revolution Brewing.

Hopefully out of your cellars are coming some great brews, too!

We had a cellar tasting the other day, at my favorite bar, and we had some pretty spectacular stuff. I broke out a Rodenbach Caractere Rouge, Supplication - b 3, and a Cascade Blueberry 2013. It's not like these are whales, but all are great beers!

PS - The one whale that was stellar was DDG 2013! Fantastic!

More minnow than whale, but I pulled a Stone/Bluejacket/10 Barrel Suede Imperial Porter out after a mere six months and was happily surprised last night. I really didn't like this beer when it dropped last winter, and I thought it was much more balanced out and flavorful already. I spent some time thinking about it, and I believe that a lot of my experience had to do with season. Even though seasons don't change very dramatically here in Southern California, a beer brewed with Jasmine and Honey seems so much more appropriate around the summer solstice than in the dead of winter. Brew for thought!

DDG is easily one of the best beers of 2013, hands down. A treat every time.

OK. I've never had it before and I suck at formally reviewing beers but I'll do my best.

I think batch 008 Supplication was the last one on the bottle log which reported it was bottled 2011-11-14 so I'm guessing batch 009 was 2012. I too am curious as to how supplication has been aging as I've got about 5-6 batches in the cellar and was planning to crack one soon to check in.

Come to think of it, I left that bottle in the fridge the bar. I'll open one this weekend and get back to you. I had one not to long ago and it was fantastic! I'll try to give you a better description.

The Rare, in my opinion, has not fallen off at all. Drinking great!

Honestly I was very disappointed in the CBS. It was too sweet and the other 3 people who had it didn't care for it either.

The winner of the night for us was the 2012 Darkness. We had a '12 and a '13 and that 2012 was fantastic.

I agree. I just opened a bottle of 2012 and it was spectacular.

Just my $.02 but I felt like it had fallen pretty far.

Which still made it excellent, but no longer particularly noteworthy and distinctively on another level from regular BCBS of the same age.

Taking a 2011 Cascade Blueberry to our Thursday share this week. Everything else I've had from was delicious, but I've heard mixed reviews on the blueberry.
