Has this always been in 500 mL bottles? I feel like I remember completely missing this one last year, but it seems like it's (thankfully) much more attainable this year. Or maybe they just ramped up production on it, either way I'm glad I was able to get a couple bottles. @Durdz I paid $12.99 at D&Q I think.

Yes, it was 500mL and about the same price ($11-13) last year.

Grabbed one today for $11.99. Never had it before. The wife and I were both not impressed. Won't be looking for another bottle.

How's the bourbon presence on this one? Is it over the top like Goose Island BCS or more subtle?

I like BCBS, and I thought the bourbon in Black Ckack was weak. Hope that helps.

Hmm, I seem to be one of the few that don't care for BCBS as it seems way overly bourbony, sweet and vanilla-y to me. I prefer a subtle Bourbon flavor in BA Imperial Stouts, so maybe I'd like this.

Bourbon County is a huge imperial stout, with enough body to stand up to the barrel treatment. It is a bit more intense, but IMO that is what a bourbon barrel aged stout should be. Black Crack has a much thinner stout base, and the barrel tends to overwhelm the rest of the beer. I have not had this years yet, but last release was overly boozy and to much barrel for the stout used (not to mention a diacetyl bomb). If that is what you mean by overly bourbony, you probably will not like this. I honestly get less rubbing alcohol flavor in Bourbon County, than Black Crack which is substantially less ABV. Again, that was all my experience last year, so I have no idea if it is a bit more rounded and well incorporated this time around.

I never had last year's, but I thought this year's was certainly not overly bourbony, but there is some well incorporated bourbon flavor there. You can really taste the base beer, which is nice for me because I love Buried Hatchet. It's really hard to compare to other BB stouts because it is so much lighter body and less boozy.

I found this year's to be much better, more well rounded, but definitely still thin for a BA stout.
