Would love to try any Bourbon County brews. Silly silly Ohio laws :slight_frown:

Barrel-Aged BORIS is a good one, Barrel-Aged DORIS, any of the Jackie O's beers that hit distribution, Hop JuJu.

Really? I've never had any luck trading BA Boris. BA Doris I could see. I still don't get the infatuation with Jackie O's. Hop JuJu I could def. see trading for it. Thanks for the feedback.

Just about any BA beer from Hoppin' Frog that hits Chicago distribution just sits on Illinois shelves for a few months. Much easier to get Naked Evil, BA BORIS, and BA Outta Kilter in Illinois than Bourbon County, Bourbon County Coffee, Bourbon County Barleywine, etc. Don't even think about trying to trade those for Proprietors or any of the other 22oz-only variants, won't happen. I don't live in Illinois anymore but I've seen year-old bottles of BA BORIS and Naked Evil just sitting around collecting dust at high-volume, high-traffic stores in Illinois.

No problem man! Happy to help. Honestly, you just have to luck out and find a trading partner on here who isn't just some asshole looking for whales only. Found an extremely nice guy in CA that trades very fairly and is just looking to try what is out there just like me. Also, some Clown Shoes is good for trading too.

Most of those sit around in Ohio too, but I'm not suggesting trading those with people in IL. I've never traded with anyone in IL to get the more limited GI beers always people in other states and it seems to work just fine. I definitely don't think those brews would nab a Proprietors though.

Nutella is chocolate & hazelnuts. And it contains no coffee.

The most recent episode of ABV Chicago features an interview with Brett Porter, who confirms most of the Bourbon County 2014 speculation:

To sum up the article Brett Porter says:
This year we’ll see the return of Bourbon County Vanilla, a Bourbon County Coffee variant with Rwandan coffee, the Proprietor's version will include unrefined Mexican sugar, coconut water, cinnamon, and Ugandan Chocolate nibs.
Their next Fulton and Wood release will be a Pomegranate Berliner Weisse tentatively named “Lilith”.
They have some BC in old ass barrels that will "make the Pappy barrels seem like youngsters."

I couldn't see many BA _oris going for BCBS. On the other hand, I would trade BCBS for the BA Dark App's in a heart beat.

Nc has a 15% abv limit, what was distributed here was 14.9. Some I traded for was 15% thought, I saw some 14.2 also. No clue to why the above varies unless they're specifically done due to state limits.

Check the batch dates. There is significant batch variation with a beer this strong. As I recall there were three batches last year, two of which were 14.9% and one of which was 14.2%. The batches with 15% on the label were from 2012.

Also, take the ABV listings for all pre-2013 BCBS bottles with a grain of salt.

So all this talk of mocha hazelnut is bs. Now I see why people hate these threads. Oh well...reg, vanilla, and coffee are good enough for me.
