Yea how do you go wrong with Victory or Troegs on tap about anywhere? I have to agree with whats said previously just about every city of decent size needs a good wild/sour brewery. Hopefully in time...

Another PA beer improvement is beer sales moving into our local super markets....more availability, convenience, and selection compared to distributers and the few scattered specialty bottleshops we had before. (There's still debate about whether super market beer sales really better for the state, but I'm firmly on the side that it is.)

Better beer at the local brewpubs. Triumph and Harvest Moon just make god awful beer. Amazing food though.

I could be totally wrong, but i always thought the tiered system and the limited availability of beers in PA was due to prohibition and archaic dumb laws designed to protect collusion between breweries and retailers? In truth once I got used to the laws in PA I liked them, not many places/states where you can find an entire case of a good beer without having to get a manager and go into the back etc.

More on topic the only think I would have improved about PA was beer prices for the good stuff!

The biggest improvement is a pet peeve and a personal opinion of an improvement that would apply to many local scenes, not only mine - so please save your comments. Any bar that either has at least one tap dedicated to macro beer or bottles of macro beer available should not be permitted to call themselves a "craft beer" bar. Just like a restaurant that has one or two steaks on the menu should not be able to call itself a steakhouse. And to be fair, a steakhouse that has menu entrees other than steak should not be able to call itself a steakhouse. In all cases, it's misleading. If you have all kinds of beer, craft and macro, it's a "beer" bar. If you all kinds of food, steak, chicken, pasta, etc. - it's a "restaurant".

My local scene sucks unfortunately... I have to hit Philly for decent selection...

    So we can't disagree?

Pretty much every steak house in NYC offers a couple of non-steak options.

And my favourite bar in NYC sells high life, yet everything about the place makes it a better bar to me than any of its peers.

Of course we can disagree, I just didn't want anybody else's opinion of my opinion. Oops too late.

I wish a lot of bars around me had less taps. I'd rather drink at a bar with 8 or so well-curated fresh taps than 30+ lines of swill with no concept of freshness or quality.

We have a 'taphouse' in my little town...all BMC and one Goose Island IPA...needless to say, I don't go there (to the craphouse). I guess when I see 'taphouse', I assume they have some craft.

I agree completely. There a few bars here in the Twin Cities that have fifty or so taps. Not only is the quality of their freshness in question, but the general quality of the selection is also questionable. When I go to a bar I usually want to drink something unique. Fifty taps of local and regional brewery's regular line up offerings just doesn't do it for me.

Wish the sports bars around the Orlando, FL carried more of a craft selection. Their idea of a craft selection is Blue Moon, Shock Top, Guinness, Smithwicks, Harp, Bass, etc... Some might offer Goose Island 312 or DogFish 60 or 90, or some other variant of an IPA. Don't get me wrong, it's better than it used to be, when they only had Bud, Miller, Coors, etc... but it's still nothing compared to a good craft selection.

Just one brewery that would put AZ on the beer map. You know, people would drive here for their beer or trade for it like they do for Bell's and others that aren't in adjacent states.

My grocery store has other things than groceries. Some of the convenient stores around me aren't convenient. Doesn't make sense to me what you're saying, but we can have differing opinions for sure.
