    Just keep cheering on upsets. I've not looked but I'm guessing no one has Nigeria advancing but some probably have the French. Same with Argentina and the Swiss. Costa Rica etc. This thing is far from over.

    Right there with you. I'm just hoping one of the teams that fewer people picked as the champion is it so there's still a shot to be in the money (beer) and not have to send.

    Those with Germany as champion have to be sweating now. Somehow, Algeria is still in this despite the stats so strongly in favor of Germany.

    Round of 16 LIF update:
    After today's matches, 11 of you still with perfect records. Unless the Swiss somehow knock off Argentina and the USA wins, someone will finish this round undefeated as 1 undefeated picked the Swiss and Belgium. The other 10 picked Argentina and 2 of you picked Belgium, the other 8 picked USA. So we're probably either going to have a massive tie breaker or a small tie breaker to break up, barring a Swiss miracle. Nobody with 1 loss picked the Swiss, so I believe unless you are currently undefeated you have been eliminated at this point.

    Goal Differential after 6 games is: 6
    Total Goals Scored after 6 games is:14

    I don't want to steal @billhelm's thunder, but I want to get this out there before the USA match as this QF mini-BIF is a little more involved (needs some explaining) and I plan on indulging in a brew or 6 during the match. The turnaround will have to be quick on this one since games start right up on Friday. Make sure you do your homework.

    'WCQF-mini-BIF Prediction League'

    Every entry must make the following prediction for EACH match:
    • Exact Score Line & 1st Player to Score (either team)
    There will be a total of 5 points on the line per match:
    • Correct Exact Score Line & 1st Goal Scorer = 5pts
    • Correct Exact Score Line = 3pts
    • Correct Result = 1pt
    • Correct 1st Goal Scorer = 1pt
    Is this too confusing for some? Here is an example for the 1st QF match up:

    Germany v. France
    Guess: Germany 3-2 France; Benzema
    Result: Germany 5-4 France; Benzema scores 1st
    Entry Score = 2pts (Correct Result & Correct 1st Goal Scorer)

    Let me know if anyone has any questions! And I will try the best I can to keep the league status updated throughout the games.

    TL;DR - guess the exact score and the 1st player to score in each of the 4 quarter final matches and win a box of beer!
