Haven't seen this posted on BA yet but it contains lots of details about the new fruit cave:

    http://www.thedailypage.com/beer/article.php?article=43082&sid=1d09c6f97dafd434a27d4f845a0d4646

    Some highlights:

“An Oud Bruin (old brown) will be the first release from Carey's emerging lineup of American sours and Belgian lambic-style beers, and is expected out this week. This style is similar to the brewery's Enigma, its Old English Porter, and the highly sought after Wild Sour Ale, which was first released last summer and quickly evaporated from store shelves amidst national acclaim.”

“Carey's second beer from the wild fruit cave will be a Belgian lambic-style blonde ale, which is termed a gueze when not made with fruit. But this sour blonde will be used as the base for certain fruit beers, and is slated to provide the background for this year's New Glarus Cranbic, which is planned to be released in September.”

“Carey adds he's planning a special release from his wild fruit cave for the Great Taste of the Midwest on Saturday, August 9. He hasn't decided just yet what that beer will be, though. In part, that's because making sours and lambic-style beers takes months of fermentation, and the final beer is often blended by taste.”

Think this will be bottled and distributed or a brewery only release?

I can't wait for the rumors of how Oud Bruin is too brown or too sour and it gets recalled before it's released.

The Gueuze will be a limited brewery release just like VSB, so I hope you are able to make the trip.

I figured the peach would be brewery only and the non fruited would be a thumbprint. My mistake. That said I do plan to go to the brewery for the release.

When did this happen? I don't remember them even releasing an Old English recently.

Pretty sure re-called beer probably has to be destroyed.

Maybe Spiced Ale was not so bad. It helped me save up for this onslaught.

Per NG, they're going to use it for something else. Were it a true 'recall', then I think you're right, it would be destroyed, but this was just the brewery pulling back beer because people didn't like how carbonated it was.
