Have gone loco insane expensive. The straw that broke the back was I just drove down to get the yearly 12 of dark horse single IPAS. Last year it was $18...this year I put it on the counter and it rang up $30. Have you people lost your mind? $30 for a 12. i've been with dark horse for YEARS! Never have I paid that much for their beer. I should have got a clue when the price of the crooked tree 6 went up. Time to find new beer. it's not just dark horse either. All of my old standbys have gone crazy loco space cadet with their pricing. I'm sure as hell not going to pay that much for my old stand by daily. what's next. Single 12 ounce restrictions?

    Time to taste new beers.

    You buy 12 packs daily?

Sorry, someone was going to make that joke.

You make it sound like trying new beers is a bad thing. That's how some craft people drink normally.

A $12 increase for a 12 pack seems excessive but are you jumping to a conclusion immediately? Are you sure there wasn't some mistake? Did you check any other beers to see if there was a corresponding increase as well? Have you checked any other places in the area or on the way to wherever it was you drove down to? For that much of an increase, I would certainly think it was an error.

I had the guy go check it to make sure it was correct. The guy at the counter was just as shocked as I was. Yes it was excessive, no it was not a mistake. I think someone, or multiple points a long the way are taking advantage of dumbasses that will pay and do anything to drink a beer. Someone will pay that price, it just won't be me.

I know and drink what I like too but I found out what I like to drink by trying new beers. If I didn't I'd still be drinking macro lagers.

They probably don't know that you've "been with [them] for YEARS!" It must be painful for you to be treated like just some customer.

There has been a massive turn over at the place. They don't know me like they used to. I don't think that matters. They are a good local resource and place to by that listens to the community. There are a bezillion beers on the shelf and they keep well stocked. I don't have a problem with management this time I don't think. They seem like good people. I think the price increase may come from other points of interest. I'm just going to have to go through and waste my money on a whole lot of beer I don't like until I find a new regular is all. I'm sure it's out there, it's just annoying.

One possibility to check on is that given the prices currently charged at on line stores you may have been charged the price for the Double Crooked Tree. And if there is a new crew they might not have realized there is a difference between Dark Horse Crooked Tree and Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree.

It's the single hop variety pack, but yeah, it was at double crooked tree prices exactly. Good point.

Maybe I'll call them and mention that. They can triple check it. The new staff is a younger staff so...?

But there are new beers coming out all the time. Who knows, you could be missing out on a new favorite.

can't say I disagree with you. Fuller London Pride was in 6 packs at a cost of $10.99, but they have switched to a 4 pack format and the charge is now $9.99 - I'm like "huh"? By my math, the new packaging should cost no more than $7.50 for a 4pk. at the $9.99 price point, I think I will have to move on from Fuller's LP and find a new go-to.

I just paid 23.99 for the newly arrived 12pk variety and was excited to pay it. Love me some Dark Horse IPA's. I agree with MJ ..
