I was there too, it wasn't even 60 degrees and the baby in front of us wasn't happy.
I saw somebody bring a young baby to a bottle release in freezing weather in January, someone bring another baby saying it was covered when being freezing out I kept seeing exposed limbs.
I have seen someone 'amuse' their child by having it play on the tractor at Hill farmstead (a huge insurance risk)
Some of you may be responsible and your children angels but I see basic child abuse and also children acting out because of boredom. Sometimes being an adult and responsible parent is realizing when not to bring your child to such a situation - not saying there are instances when it can work.
BTW as long as you got to Mad Taco by 8 you probably got everything you wanted, we did and we got there around 7:30.

You see child abuse because someone brought their child to a beer release?

    Okay.

Your reading comprehension is terrible and you've repeated back something she never said. Adorable.

    "I see basic child abuse"

Please tell me again how poor my reading comprehension is, I find your analytical capabilities fascinating.she is clearly saying a responsible parent realizes when not to bring children to "such situations", and equates doing so to child abuse.

Such situations clearly refers back to the farmers market, hill stead farms and other beer releases.

If you want to attack me, please be correct when you do it.

Won't even get into the judgmental nature of either of your posts,

    Let's get back to,discussing beer!

    Cheers!

Yes, I do. If you are sitting for hours in the cold outside a crack house waiting for "your man" would that be any different? We're at an interesting time in social acceptance of adult indulgences- would it make any difference if the kids were waiting in the snow in a line in Colorado for the latest release of a marijuana strain? Don't pretend you're thinking about the kids when you take them to wait in line for for a beer release. There are decisions we can make for ourselves as adults, but as parents with kids in tow, your first consideration has to be for your kids. And guess what- you second consideration shouldn't be to yourself, but to the others around you. I pains me to see kids suffering through their parent's selfishness.

See where she clearly mentions specific things she's witnessed? See how after that is where she mentions abuse? See how you made a generic summary of her comments that was more broad that anything she actually said? Your reading comprehension sucks or you have an agenda or underlying guilt you felt the need to defend. I'll attack you when I am correct. I.E. Now.

You are the one with the agenda, because what I said clearly was accurate, and clearly had nothing to do with you. Coming from the N.e. We both know the nickname for, those who, come from the state you claim to live in. Stop trying to exemplify that nickname.

Now, let it go. It has nothing to do WITH YOU.

I have two kids and I have picked up great beer with them. it involves me stopping at a not busy brewery (20 minutes max) or a package store (20 minutes max). I wouldn't subject either of my kids (4 and a 2 year old) to a 1 hour wait/trip for beer (let a lone more). However, what some else does with their own kids is their own business. As a parent if you are okay with it, then I am okay with it for your kids. I am sure I do things that others think is not okay too.

The few times I have waited extremely long times for beer, my kids were with my wife not playing video games or watching TV (well maybe a little TV). I will not make my kids wait in a line for beer until I feel they are ready to help me drink it. The kid in the picture is like 5 years old. A five year old is not going to hold a 5 hour intellectual conversation.

Their were little kids around the couple times I have waited in long lines for beer. They looked miserable or if they were older, then they spent the time on a smartphone.

End of the day: do what you want with your kids. They are yours. My kids will not wait in a line longer then 20 minutes for beer. A couple of times a year, my wife will watch them or some one else that loves having fun with my kids will watch them.

i see child abuse in taking a baby of less than 6 months to wait outside in 30 degree weather for more than an hour.
It was a young guy who took the baby to that bottle release and I didn't think the mother would have been happy.
I see selfishness to others around you when your baby cries for most of the time it is there, in this case rightly so as it was unhappy, I see other situations where such behavior is fine.

We were just at the Gneiss bbq and children were running around some happy some less so, it was a casual family event beer aside, kids there TOTALLY fine. Kids at the market fine, the band playing kids songs to them and the kids 'dancing' cute as heck.

Ah, so you knew they wouldn't actually be sitting there for 4 hours and still decided to fan the flames, well done.

Yeah, but I am sure it was a long car ride. The post was 75% kidding. I didnt think it would get so crazy. I don't care what they do with their kids (within reason)...

Pretty short car ride from where they spend the night in Stowe...but all good.

These guys were within reason even if their 5 year old can't hold a 5 hour conversation (but I'm not saying she couldn't!).

can we finish this shit storm with the fact that if you turned up around 8 am you manged to get the limits. Lets actually give some useful information to people the next time they think about the market.
Despite how crazy time some people may have turned up if you made it in a reasonable time you get the beer you are after then enjoy a very nice farmers market.

Great point. I really had no idea what to expect line wise this time around. I didn't expect it to be as bad as HF anniversary weekend but with all the July 4 activities I wan't sure. Was pleasantly surprised that it was so manageable. I showed up at the same time I did on HF weekend and was 50 spots closer (81 instead of 131). When I picked up my beer at a little past 10am Sean said they still had numbers left but were pretty low. I would not be surprised if people were able to walk up at the end of the market and get DS...
