NorCal is terrible, specifically SF and Marin Counties.
    We get RR, sure.
Otherwise states across the country get beers from San Diego before we do.
How the hell is that possible?
Plus we don't get Bell's or Founders, making others...FML

Yeah, my post should have said "...among others." But thanks for furthering my point.

There is no good beer in Vermont, no need to come here! :grinning:

Perhaps you should do just that.
In the meantime, BA named FalconA is the only bastion on this front line, keeps this database as best he can while also having a life to live that has nothing to do with helping us all out, and is quite welcoming of any and all updates, additions and suggestions to this database.
It is only as good as the help that he gets. Drop him a line with any inaccuracies that you see instead of just complaining about it.

Obviously none of you have been to WV, or else it would be on your 'worst' list.

Living in NH I generally don't get ton's of options as far as major releases go. Every store only gets a few cases of KBS, BFast Stout, BCBS(with no variants) and so on...

But then again I live in New England where there are plently great local brew pubs and when I want Heady I drive up and get it, when I want HF I drive up and get it, when I want Lawson's I drive up and get it. when I want whatever else I go to Mass and pick it up. So after further thought I have it pretty good I guess.

Unfortunately majority of the sessionable beers are pale ales, IPAs, lagers, and some stout/porters. Do not see any sours or Berliner Weiss. That would be AWESOME though.

I love West Virginia, but our beer distro ain't great. We get Great Lakes, Flying Dog, and Sierra Nevada. As a die hard Mountaineer, I swallow my vomit when I say "Thank God for Pennsylvania". The only advantages to living a stone's throw to PA are 15 minute drives to Korintus and...and....well, that's about it.

Great replies, thanks for the info. Man, am I feeling bad for the WV friends.
Good thing my dad was a Mountaineer when the only choices were Bud or a warmer can of Bud otherwise it sounds like he would have really missed out.

I think North Eastern Pennsylvania is better than NYC and Long Island and NJ, but you definitely have to travel farther in terms of mileage.

NY is much more expensive also.

I would say that all of PA is pretty good. I live in the middle of the state (and middle of nowhere) and regularly enjoy beers like Sucks, Hop Slam, Flower Power, and others on tap. Philly area is the best I've seen though, they get RR distributed there....

Even if the options in PA are good, the buying process (beer stores only selling cases) is the single stupidest thing I've ever seen. I haven't bought a case of any one beer in 25 years.

The flaw of this discussion is the focus on cities and states - I live in a good beer state, but I'm far from any of the bigger cities, and in the heart of Bud country. I work for a wholesaler so I see all the reasons - for example, when I first started, management had just turned down the opportunity to carry Founders because they knew it wouldn't sell out here. Things will look better in a couple years, maybe, but for now, people just want their cheap after-work beer and maybe something 'different' for vacation or weekends.
