^thanks for the info.. i did see that code on the bottles but wasn't sure how to read it... pretty sure the stuff i got though at least the big eye and sculpin has that kind of date on it ie 033002 so it's 5 month old stuff here in NJ.. i better drink it fast... better than the single bottle of big eye i got last year that mush have been even older... still thought it was an awesome beer... doubt we here in NJ will ever get super fresh ballast point stuff

really i just wish bells and Three Floyds would start distro here... we would have it all! haha more or less anyway... NJ loves our beer

yea their selection is solid but any kind of special beer that comes in they hold in the back, i think when they got CBS their employees kept 6 bottles of the 12 bottle case. When i was there i had to ask for Weyerbacher Insanity which i don't think is that special. Anyways you have to ask for anything good. Mike is their beer guy. They also just started carrying home brew supplies but they are very expensive, worth it if you are in a pinch i suppose.

Not sure where the 'south jersey' cutoff is. But, my wife just picked up a bottle (Better Half) at Canal's on 73 Marlton. So I am sure WineWorks and the other spots got some today as well. She also; grabbed a 4pk of Double Trouble dated 2/19/12. That the guy at the store said came in today as well.

--edited to mention the 'bottle' was better half.

the Ballast Point stuff Union delivered to LI all where fresh (Sculpin is good until 4/1/12, got it last week, so thats pretty fresh), I would assume Hunterdon has the same.

the shop i hit in NJ when I am visiting my parents had fresh Port Mongo IPA, bottled on 1/24 or 1/12 about 2 weeks ago, so that go fresh Port stuff

In SJ my local shops (Wegmans-Cherry Hill and Total Wine) have both had VERY fresh Mongo (within 2 weeks of bottling). Not so fresh with the WipeOut freshest bottle I have seen has been bottled on 12/8/11. Which may still be good but out of my acceptable date range.

32.00 bucks. i'm assuming DoubleTrouble was 10.99-11.99. So that makes Better Half 19.99? Prolly got ripped off. But i got a bottle so i'll take it....

I still don't know why they don't ship 6 packs of Sculpin to Jersey or ALL of their accounts for that matter. Philly has 6pks/singles of Sculpin at any good Bottle Shop. I wonder what determines to them what they ship where 12oz/22oz...

    Who the hell knows.

This old guy working at Canals in mays landing got offended when i knocked Hunterdon. I said Hunterdon must play favorites, he said No way! its based on supply and demand. I said bullshit (lol), I went to a liquor store in south NJ that usually has Founders 4 packs that are always at least 4 months old and collecting dust,...and they still have 4 Blushing Monk bottles collecting dust...and they sold me one for $8.99..they had not the slightest inclination of craft beer and THEY got special Founders? supply and demand my ass! and the old man got butthurt lol. we both just said whatever, made amends and I left.

Just called WF and they claimed they didn't get it yet and if they did they were going to hold bottles for their "better customers" which is exactly the reason I'm not one of their regular customers. That and the fact that everything is expensive. I work at a pretty good liquor store with a nice craft collection and everything is first come first serve. Anything new we take a picture and put it on facebook so everyone has a fair shot at getting it. The only special treatment is if the owner pulls something aside for a good friend of his but he usually buys it at the end of the day and just gets the cash from his friends. When we get KBS it will be in the back but if you come ask for it you get it. Not holding it for anyone. I've even started to notice some of my good customers that work during the week are sending wives, girlfriends, and friends in when they knew we got something new in because they know we don't hold anything no matter how good of a customer you are which is the way the world should work. I used to be a great customer at a few different stores but now working in the industry I just buy whatever I sell. This has caused me to miss out on some stuff that normally I would have gotten but only the uber rare stuff like CBS which I had already had on tap, and BA Yeti which snuck into a few stores and is way more rare than CBS or Better Half.
