Ballast Point Beer Festival

Bought my tickets early yesterday morning. Should be entertaining. Couldn't believe they are 18 though.

 

I've been there last year. I absolutely loved it. The museum is fantastic. Beer selection was fantastic.

 

Wish they'd release a list of the beers being offered :\

 

- 2010 barrel aged Sextant, czyli outmeal stout. Kapitalna pozycja.
- East to West IPA, kolaboracyjne IPA warzone we współpracy z japońskim browarem Coedo.
- 2010 barrel aged Sea Monster, chyba gwiazda wieczoru i piwo pokazujące jak wiele dają debowe beczki piwie typu Russian Imperial Stout.
- Grunion, czyli Pale Ale warzone przez zwycięzce konkursu piwowarów domowych, świetne piwo, jedno z lepszych tego dnia.
- Black Marlin, porter warzony z papryczkami chipotle, kakao i skórką pomarańczową. Największy zawód tego dnia (ale za to jeden z niewielu). Piwo było bardzo pikantne i jak dla mnie zupełnie niepijalne. Chipotle zupełnie zabiło pozostałe smaki i aromaty.
- 2010 barrel aged Sour Wench, piwo górnej fermentacji warzone z jagodami, bardzo smaczne i delikatne.
- Piper Down, czyli Scottish Ale.
- Schooner, chmielone na sucho American Pale Ale.
- Steamboat, kawowy, chmielowy American Lager.
- Victory at Sea
- Hour, geueze/sour.
- Navigator Dopplebock

We had a lot of fun at the one last year. Wonder how the addition of spirit samples will change anything.

 

just a couple insider updates, sorry but no beer list just yet, but this year the maritime museum will be allowing us to expand from the sidewalk into one side of the parking lot. meaning less crowded areas to drink and eat. food vendors look to be returning, and there should be some solid guest appearances. dont wanna give away too much...

 

you got it guys. when i have more info, ill try and keep updates. unfortunatly i have to work that day so i cant use my emloyee ticket however they are giving incentive that all employees who volunteer to work that day at our locations get a 50 dollar gift card and allllll get to go on a private boat party cruise together at a later date!

if anyone is on the fence about going still, i highly recommend it. the sours that colby will be providing are phenomenal. plus sme of the vintages pulled out are fantastic. 2011 BBA sea monster?!?! gah. why do i have to work....
