Yep just did..........now keep in mind I am relatively new to the craft beer scene. I have liked Belgians and other good beers for quite a while, I just haven't researched other beers/breweries until about 4 months ago. My eyes opened and it began with a quest for KBS and Pappy Van Winkle 23. I have been a bourbon fan for a while. Now earlier this year there was a Founders takeover at Al's / Pizza Boy. I found out about it and decided to go over after I spent some time with the family. I think about going after I put the little one to bed........I get a msg.....keg is kicked. Strike one. Today I get a tweet that Al's tapped KBS and Evil Twin Doughnut Break. The KBS is a 1/2 pour so I figure it will last. I have a client meeting in the afternoon that I have to make and then my wife is taking the 4 yr old to gymnastics and then she wants to grab a bite to eat. I tell her I want to go over there after so I could finally try some KBS. She says fine and I head over..............on my way I get a msg that Al's has marked the keg as kicked! CRAP!!!!! I'm going anyway. I am getting some Doughnut! I pull in to Al's.......go inside and see a friend who works for them. I tell him my KBS story and he says that I should have come over earlier when it was tapped. I tell him no worries as there is something else I want to try. I look at the tap board and see Evil Twin............as it blinks and gets crossed out.....kicked! No Way!!!! I reach for my keys to leave.......................no keys.........locked in the truck. I have to call the wife to drive out to unlock the truck so I can drive home after I finally get a stinking beer.

Now I realize that KBS doesn't necessarily live up to it's reputation, but it still holds a soft spot in my heart as being the first beer that I have really tried to search out and I look forward to trying. Heck the BCBS I landed in a trade for some HT and Lawson's will surely be much better, but it is just one of those things you know? Well the day ended better .......I got a fantastic beer from Millbock (6 Hops of Christmas) and some Sunny Side Up! It will do.

 

Bavarians have been warming their sausages like that for hundreds of years!!!
