    Had to leave work early today; the wife's tooth broke off at the gum line and she had to go to the dentist (obviously:rolling_eyes:) so I filled in watching her charges until their parents picked them up.
    So after they were picked up and I started making dinner...BEER ME!:sunglasses::grinning:
    She came home and had a temporary crown put in, looking better than that old tooth.

    A combination Long Trail Berliner Weisse and Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. It's... okay. The thought was to create a sour cherry beer and I'd hope that there was enough sweetness in the Cherry Wheat to carry the concoction, but the tartness of the weisse is slightly overpowering the cherry flavor and honestly it needs a bit more sweetness.

    I can't stop mixing Berliner weisses with things someone help me I've gone mad and am a monster.

    Wait, we posting music here too? In that case.

    Just got back from a trip to VT with no Heady Topper and no Lawson's (I've officially struck out looking for Lawson's - three trips, zero success). Sad? Hell no!

    The trip was almost entirely dry; I had a Smuttynose Robust Porter for lunch the day we went up, and other than that, the only alcohol I consumed was the 4-beer sample at HF. Fortunately (?), my vacation is over. Long live the next vacation! And...let's drink some beer!!!

    In addition to a mini-HF haul I brought back (to drink and share), I was porch bombed during my brief trip by @JayORear. Then, 2 hours after I got home, I got a box in from @capnamerica from our trade.

    So, what am I getting to first? My favorite porter of all time: Hill Farmstead Everett.

    It's been a few months since I first had Everett, so I couldn't help but wonder if maybe my memory was lying to me about just how damn good it is. NOPE!!! Damn, this is unbelievably delicious and creamy!

    Trying to console myself with this, one of the tastiest beers ever

    But it just tastes like water to me now. I had to have my most beloved Mish Mish, my 22-year old cat, put to sleep today. Like so many older cats, she had hyperthyroidism. We were able to control it for years, but finally the disease was winning, she was just over 3 pounds and wasting away. She was alive in only the most technical sense, but it still was just about the most heartbreaking thing I had to do. That little fur ball was with me for just about half my life, she was the best companion I could ever ask for. Cheers to Mish Mish and all of our four-legged companions who give us so much love and happiness.

    Yep. Poured liquid black, nice 3 to 4 finger frothy/dark brown head, and leaves a killer lacing. This is the reason why I love stouts. The epitome of what a dark beer should look and taste like. 4.5/5
