Anybody else brewing this weekend? I am brewing 8 gallons of American Blonde Ale to see if all my equipment is infection free on Monday.

    11# Pale Malt 88%
    1.0# CaraFoam 8%
    0.5# Honey Malt 4%

    60 min 0.1oz Zues 15.4%AA
    25 min 1.0oz Amarillo 10.4%AA
    0 min 1.0oz Amarillo 10.4%AA

    Est IBUs 20
    Est ABV 4%

Splitting it into 2 fermenters. Had 7-8 batches infected and hoping I got rid of it all. After primary I am going to run 4 gallons off into gallon jugs and purposely infect them and age on oak and Apricots for awhile.

Anybody else brewing or doing any brewing related chores?

If I manage to get my new 10 gallon MLT ready then I will be brewing an Imperial Oatmeal Stout on Sunday. If not I'll head to the homebrew shop on Saturday and pick up ingredients for something else with a smaller grain bill that my 5 gallon cooler can handle. I ended up brewing an ESB last Sunday for the same reason. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get around to brewing this damn stout. Anyway, here's the recipe...

    Grain:
    12.00lbs Pale 2-Row
    1.50lbs Flaked Oats
    1.00lbs Roasted Barley
    1.00lbs Crystal 120L
    0.50lbs Chocolate

    Hops:
    0.50oz Nugget 60min
    0.50oz Simcoe 60min
    0.50oz Simcoe 40min
    0.50oz Simcoe 20min
    0.50oz Simcoe 00min

    Yeast:
    WLP001 California Ale Yeast

    Mash:
    155F for 60min

Planning on a swag at Ithaca Brute but we'll see how that goes...
    3# Acidulated
    8# Pilsner
    1# Flaked Corn
    8oz wheat malt
    8oz flaked wheat
    4oz unmalted wheat

Mash around 156-158F, primary with WPL002, secondary with cultured Ithaca Brute dregs and probably some other Brett C.

Depending on how that goes and available time from SWMBO, may try for a 7-8 gallon batch of a Rochefort clone

Just posted in the other thread from last week...

I have had a few bad brew days due to kids / time / weather / laziness on weekends, so I tried to do it over a couple of days (prep, brewing...)

I racked my Amarillo Wheat to a keg and then brewed a mini-IPA / West Coast Bitter (OG was supposed to be 1.038, but was 1.044, 90% eff?) using Chinook / Citra / Amarillo & Golden Promise. It was based off of BA's recipe a year ago and the Mad Fermentationist... Tastes good & bitter so far.

We plan on brewing Jamil's Flanders Red but pitching Roselare from the get go. And a pale ale that we hope to enter in a local competition.

My fermenters are full right now so I'm bottling my Two Hearted clone and dry hopping my DIPA. for bottling it'll be my first time using grolsch bottles, but since I only have a dozen I'm using a few at a time for each of this season's batches.

We'll see if the Deutsche Post gets my ingredients here in time. I have a big bad DIPA planned for as soon as it hits my doorstep and I get the starter goin. Basically this is based on Pliny from beerdujour except using Citra, Cascade, Simcoe and carared in place of crystal 45.

    edit: misspelled Deutsche

I have got a lot going on this weekend in terms of homebrewing.

Brewing up a hefeweizen for the first time.
Racking a monster DIPA to my secondary to dry hop.
Drinking my first on tap homebrew from my kegerator.
Bottling some brews for the National Homebrew Competition.
Planning my next three recipes since I have gotten a lot of ideas in my head recently.

This is my first post in like 6 months, see how this fancy new thread setup works!

Brewed me up a caramelly IPA with homegrown Cascade/Willamette/Centennials onto a 2112 cake yesterday. Going to DH with some Simcoe pellets.

Just got a 30pack of Pabst for my daughter's 5th Bday party Sunday for my lame Coor's Light drinkin inlaws. They can drink that or soda. F em, not buying any shitass light beer for anybody. Pretty sure they won't be touching my SN Torpedo

I brewed 4 batches in the last 2 weeks. A homegrown Sterling with T-58. Two IPAs, and another with the T-58 and a bunch of Belgian malts - caravienne, special B, biscuit. No idea how that is going to taste, but just felt like getting nutty and creative and doing something out on the edge. Hopefully it's not a wierd ass mess.

I did a Saison with 3711, dry hopped with Citra last year. It ended up being pretty damn good. I need to do that again.

I am bottling my Dark Saison this weekend. I am going to bottle 3 gallons. Then, 2 gallons will be split between 2 small carboys. Fantome Hiver dregs in one, Jolly Pumpkin Luciernaga dregs in the other.

Still haven't decided what I'm brewing this weekend. Either a Roggenbier or a simple saison with 3724 and styrian goldings.

Me and some friends are getting together to brew a basic IPA on sunday. Light DME, Crystal 40L, and 2 oz. random hops. It should be fun, none of them have hombrewed before.

I'm eager to show off my equipment and get them excited for hombrew!
