There's nothing wrong with tickets for releases- Alesmith has done it religiously for years and it makes the whole day more enjoyable. It's not a ticket for an event, it's the actual beer that you purchase on brownpaper, then you can come and pick up that day, hang out, talk to folks, whatever. It's going to become a shitshow if they don't somehow regulate the purchasing of the beer, I can pretty much guarantee you that.

I can see why some would call it a metallic taste, but I find it to be more of a lemony (or I suppose vinegar) taste on the finish. This does not have the cherry and vanilla flavors of Enigma or the sour green plum of WSA. It seems to fit the description pretty well, with out much fruit flavor and some roasted malt notes. It's pretty similar to Lips Of Faith - La Folie, which makes me think it will get better with age.

No longer. I can vouch for what DooshBagalow said earlier today. There were no cases on the floor and four 4-packs in the cooler. Then they were all gone.

I'm pretty sure that people will make it a shitshow, not the lack of tickets.

I was just at Kenosha Woodman's at 7:30PM today and got a case. They had about 6-7 cases left on the floor plus a case worth in the wall cooler. $56.97 out the door.

I grabbed a case at Kenosha a little before 5 today, plenty on the floor still and at least a case worth in the cooler.

I don't get a metallic taste, but I've only had one bottle so I will report back after a few more.

To me it's a more sour enigma without the cherries. I definitely get a lemon sourness as opposed to the plum/dark fruit sourness of WSA. I also get the cinnamon/dubbel characteristics that some other people have mentioned.

I think I liked WSA more. But don't take that the wrong way, WSA is one of my top 5 favorite beers of all time. I really enjoy this beer and I'm glad to have a case of it.

Nice price. Gonna have to score a case before I keep buying $10.49 4-packs.

Yes. I figured you were. Funny that I was told they were all out (which wasn't the case based on a recent post) and I was limited to one case at Discount (which others were not also based on a recent post). Was attempting to get three total to split with friends. Consumer Beverage had some for only 8.99 a four pack. I didn't ask if they had more in back. That place had great prices all around. $28 for Bruery anniversary. $18 for Bruery Oud Tart. Lowest I've seen anywhere. Glad I had a work outing at Miller Park today and was able to nab some.

There is an outside chance that shops did get a new delivery today- last week was all jacked up due to the holiday.

That's amazing that there were more cases at Woodman's later in the day. No harm, I enjoyed a short back road drive to some other honey holes and don't mind spreading my money to those smaller locales.

Those 2 are for an ex Wisco BA that lives in NC. Comes back for business quite often. I may buy a single if I see one though.

Thanks for the info. Planning on heading there tonight. We do our normal grocery shopping there anyways so I will not just be going for it (hope that makes some people happier)...

Can anyone post on here if they get sold out?

Just got here. Got the last 3 four packs of bruin. Rep or employee was here told me he had a line this morning. 50 cases. Possibly next week. But I don't think they're lying unless they have more for later or something who knows. But as of now. Kenosha is out.

It's probably worth the extra 25 minutes to get up to Discount or Ray's. Both have plenty left, but I could see them getting low by Sunday.

Keep in mind that shops are still receiving their shipments for this week today. So plenty of places around SE Wisco will have this beer on the shelves. Woodman's just seems to be the easiest stop for the Illinois folks picking up their cases.

    From the man himself:

Oud Bruin, WSA, and VSB are all bottle-conditioned. Of the three, only Oud Bruin is flash pasteurized and then re-pitched with fresh yeast. The other two "contain myriad yeasts and bacteria so the beer continues to mature."

Most of the rest of their beers are flash pasteurized with yeast re-pitched for bottle or cask conditioning.
