Denver Brah! There is a reason they moved operations to Wild & Wonderful Colorado.

Not from CO, but given you're a fan of IPAs, keep an eye out for La Cumbre

Gotta back up the Crooked Stave recommendations. My favorite in the state, from those I've had.

Indeed. Big Bad Baptist at 4% wouldn't taste quite the same.

If La Cumbre is there ... YES. I like Elevated more than Dank but both are phenomenal.

This. I believe Mephistopheles is also known as Tweak. Might be wrong.

EDIT: I am wrong. They are different beers. Try to get both. Fantastic stuff.

Oscar Blues is great. I also just tried Great Divide's Titan IPA and I really dig it.

Indeed. I think they were getting too big for Utah, if you get what I mean.

TWEAK is Mephistopheles with Coffee. I don't think TWEAK is on tap currently at Avery. I haven't check in a week or so.

Heard they moved to be able to brew higher ABV outside of Utah, anyone hear the same? From what I've seen, different batches of Big Bad Baptist have different ABVs depending on if it was a Utah or a Denver batch.

The Avery brewery tour and taproom are definitely worth checking out--Maharaja, Meph, and Reverend are good. I would also suggest picking up some Modus Hoperandi by Ska--one of my favorite IPAs.

never been, but had some good beers from there... would have to agree with those that say Oskar Blues....

if i were commenting on one of the hundred "one beer for the rest of your life" threads.... hands down Dale's Pale Ale.

Anything Odell first and foremost. Funkwerks if you're into saison's. Crooked Stave for wild ales. Oskar Blues if you're into going to a brewery and having a great time. I haven't been to TRVE, but I do love Metal. New Belgium for the huge tour and free beers. Breckenridge (In Breck) for the views. Avery for a lot of their stuff.

Tons of great beers in CO, OP, it just depends on what you ar elooking for. A lot of my favorites don't really get big distro. so you'll want to plan your visit accordinly. Like mentioned though, CS and Odell are big favorites, along with Great Divide and Avery.

Trinity down here in Colorado Springs is my of my favorite brew pubs and they make some of my favorite wilds/sours. TRVE in Denver is a metal-heads paradise, and Renegade also does some great stuff right around the corner but doesn't get a lot of press.

Pateros Creek, Coopersmith, and Equinox are all great options in Fort Collins that again, don't get much press.

As others have suggested Odells and Great Divide both make some great things.

The Coors Tour is cool, but stay away from the free beer they push on you at the end!
