Damn. I bought the last 4-pack at Market Square in Birmingham, MI a few weeks back for $19. Sounds like I got ripped, but I didn't care for it much and won't be purchasing it again

13.99 in pittsburgh...haven't had it before, but unless it is better than dirt wolf/head hunter/other IPA or IIPA I can get for around $10 I won't be buying a lot more.

Finally landed here in Buffalo, NY area. $12.99 per 4 pack. Had one last night. Worth the wait/search. Think I like Devil Dancer a tad more. Someday maybe I'll get chance to try KBS

Am I the only one who thought this year's batch was off? I was very underwhelmed by my 4 pack this year, although I loved this beer when I had it on draft the last 2 years. I drain poured 2 of my bottles, and one I "rescued" adding pureed mango and peaches to my glass before pouring. For me the taste was bland, boozy, bitter as hell, with little hop flavor to back it up. My wife's flying dog easy IPA (session IPA) in the fridge has more hop flavor than my double trouble! I drank my 4 pack over a week period with the bottles being 3 - 4 weeks old (bottled on 6/17/14). Was anyone else disappointed with this product?

So, it just landed here in Asheville this past week and the 4-pack I bought was bottled 5/27...Now, I'm not a huge stickler for freshness, but why do we always seem to be the last to see the special releases land and therefore don't get to try them as fresh as other markets? Anyways, it's my first time having it, and it's a great DIPA. All Founders IPAs seem to have a similar flavor (DD, Harvest, Centennial). I don't know if it's house yeast or that they have similar hop profiles, but this is the best representation of what they can do with an IPA that I've experienced thus far IMO.

Shawn, sounds odd. If that beer is worth drain a pouring, then something was up with your palate or the beer was messed up through distribution or retail. Could've been light struck or gotten too warm or something. Plenty of hop aroma and flavor in mine.

I'd agree it's a tad bit more boozy this year.

First time having it a couple of weekends ago and absolutely loved it. Will definitely pick it up again next year.

I had a few 5/29 4-packs and I found the hop flavors to be muted in favor of maltiness. not nearly a drain pour as you state, but not nearly as resinous and hoppy - like fresh Harvest - as I recall from last year's. a step down imo but still worth the price of admission.

Not directly related but drinking bottles of Victory Hop Ticket Session Ipa blew the bottles of Hoptimum I was drinking out of the water.

Not exactly on topic, but Devil Dancer hit stores along with Double Trouble around me. I've not seen it on shelves in the past or just didn't notice. Is $25/4-pack typical? Same store has Dirt Wolf at $11/4-pack and Double Trouble at $12.

If I saw a single, I'd probably do it just to try it, but I can't wrap my head around getting 8 of DW/DT rather than 4 Devil Dancer.

Yeah I think something went wrong with my 4 pack i got. I'm gonna try it on tap at Rustico this weekend to let it redeem itself. I'm sure the hops will be there.

Sorry. Work/drive through DC regularly. It was on the shelf at Magruder's. Wouldn't mind trying, but can't bring myself to do it even when I do stupid stuff all the time when buying beer.
