Hopparillo iiiPA by Knee Deep

I'm a fan -- thought it was a really tasty hop bomb. Had it on draft, too, which let me check out a smaller portion than the 22 oz. bomber all at once (may have helped keep it more enjoyable?).

 

I believe this was on at BWSB a week or two ago. Maybe it's time I revisit some of Knee Deeps IPA's. I've had them all back when they first came out. Good taste but was turned off by the $$'s. After all I'm paying nearly the same amount for BW's & Noble's Showers bottles. Still looking for a bottle of Double Actuator. Had the first batch when it was first released. Thought it was okay. Look for bottles coming out of BCB soon. Their PCH pale ale and Hang Ten DIPA is good.

 

Drank one recently that was about 1.5 months old (May bottling date), and it was AWFUL. Damn near drainpour. I struggled to finish it, but since I paid 10 bucks it was going down. Thing is, I LOVE Simtra. But this beer obviously falls off a lot faster. Would like to try it fresh.

 

Great beer when fresh.

 

I had the same experience. Mine was about 5 weeks old and tasted like a barleywine. Want to try it fresh, but not wanting to drop another $10 on a bottle. Oh well.

 

I can't explain why, but I HATED this beer. In general, I'm not a fan of Knee Deeps beers though.

 

I liked it significantly more than Hop Shortage and Simtra. My kind of hop profile...

 

Had a hoparillo, Simtra and deschutes fresh squeezed in one night. Needless to say, it was over the course of a few hours.

Fresh squeezed was a nice start and then went to hops-ville w/ Knee Deep. QUITE expensive bc of $/oz for Knee Deep, but Simtra was worth the price of admission!

 

liked it, drank a ton of it. would drink again.
