    I hope this isn't a redundant thread...

I have a buddy headed up to the brewery (New Glarus) next week and was wondering if anyone knew what they had in their bottle shop or if you knew of somewhere to look it up, couldn't find anything on their website. Thanks for the help.

Very likely nothing he can't find at the grocery stores along the way to the brewery. While the beer depot is nice to visit, the prices are higher than groceries and except for special releases they wont have anything unique or brewery only.

If your friend is looking just for beer, stop in almost any store that sells beer and they will find what they are looking for.

If they want to see a beautiful brewery and maybe learn more about NG, then make a trip to the brewery/store.

I went up ther yesterday for the first time. They had the usual stuff up for sale like you see above. The brewery is beautiful and the courtyard to drink your beer is amazing. The views are like a winery, not a brewery. Must visit if you've never been.

A buddy of mine and fellow BAer went there and they had R&D stuff for sale. It wasn't recently but I think the possibility to find something rare or unusual exists.

I was there yesterday for the first time - breathtaking views and what an impressive brewery. Only beef is that they had no Thumbprints in the taproom.

So.... Nobody knows what's there is what you guys are saying...

I was wondering exactly what they had, it's for me, I have been to the brewery, did the hard hat tour, and visited the bottle shop there where they had a few different things... So I was wondering in particular what they had right now...

    Here's what you'll find: http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/index.cfm/beers/beerschedule

All of the year-round beers, some 2014 seasonal (probably from Back 40 and on. Maaaaaybe some Coffee Stout & Snowshoe), and probably all of the 2014 Thumbprints except Berliner, which was re-called.

They don't always announce seasonal beers, although I hear that Hometown Blonde won't hit until later in the summer.

R&D beers don't hit with much frequency, and everyone is in agreement that the next ones will be released the weekend of GToM.

Maybe they have a few bottles of the Anniversary Ale left? A nice Belgian strong ale that is aging really well.

The never put Thumbprint beers on in the tasting room, unfortunately.

They had Scream available in the tasting room when i stopped in last month, so that must have changed.

Awesome. I think I've been there around a dozen times but never saw a Thumbprint on tap. Very glad for them to put Scream on, though!

They had for sale at the bottle shop: scream, oud bruin, dubbel, moon man, dancing man wheat, back 40, spotted cow, rasp tart, strawberry rhub, serendipity, belgian red, yokel. I think i even saw some spiced ale too.

If I'm ever looking for some Spotted Cow or Strwberry Rhubarb for myself or for trade I usually hit up Woodman's in Kenosha, WI which is right over the IL border. Pretty good selection she it comes to NG, CW, Founders...hell even AleSmith (Sometimes have Speedway Stout, Numbskull and Wee Heavy.)

I really don't think that Scream is a true TP just because of the amount that was made and that Dan may brew more this year. I just think it fits well in to the price point of a $10 4pk.

It will be interesting to see when they release the next batch. The first is still hanging around here or there, but is mostly gone from Milwaukee shelves. Still tastes great which is a relief after how terrible Johnson tasted after one month.

Still plenty of Illumination 6-packs around, too. Haven't ponied up to try that one at 3 months old. Last year's was pretty good fresh but fell off within 2 months.

Illumination is still drinking great in my book. I'm really glad it went from a 4 pk to a 6 pk this year.

Yeah, love the Illumination 6-pack. Wouldn't mind a Scream 6-pack, but NG regulars would probably get confused, with the current 6-packs having been all the same price for years and years.

FYI. NG only has one SKU for six packs. It would be a huge change for the brewery to have beers in six packs at different price points. Not saying it won't happen some day...

I would love to have a better understanding of ingredient cost of specific beers when it comes to six pack vs four pack. Dan indicated once that the original R&D Two Women Lager would have been prohibitively expensive to offer in 6/4pk or 4/6pk. Presumably this would be the case of trying to sell Scream at $7/6pk.

yeah... my post was definitely in jest... I would say though, if NG upped their overall price by around $.50 I don't think the consumer would be terribly concerned... the quantity of Spotted Cow sold with the extra couple of quarters could off set how much they lose selling me Scream
