Have tried to enjoy more "summer" seasonals this year.....more IPL's, pilsners, radlers, hefe's.....they are ok and I am still enjoying them for a bit longer.....but looking forward also to the autumn beer season, marzen's, fresh harvest ales (going to try brewing my own with 5 varieties of hops I am growing this year!), brown and pumpkin ales.....just dug a few pumpkin brews out of my cellar as it is in the 50's the next couple of nights here and I like the cooler weather.....humid as hell and 90's get's old fast! As Ram Dass said / wrote many years ago....."Be Here Now".....i.e., the best beer is the one in your hand right now!

This on every level. I love everything about Fall, including the beer. With that said, I would never wish away the summer and I'm loving some (not all) of the seasonals this year. Flying Dog's Dead Rise is one of the more interesting summer brews that I've latched onto this summer.

Eck -- sounds like you ended up with the wrong batch. No metal in what I had up this way.

I drink nearly all styles in all seasons of the year. Summer the ratios shifts slightly towards lighter beers, but still I have the occassion 10%+ stout, double IPA etc. Winter...I still have the occassional Pale Ale and lighter lagers, Germans etc. Different beer style nearly every day/week.

I love late summer's "fall" beer season. That's why I can't wait 'til August rolls around every year. You can keep your fall weather but I'll take fall beers any time of year. O-Fests, ESBs, Breakfast Stout, brown ales, etc. You can keep the summertime pumpkin ales with canned pumpkin though. Oh, and FYI, making it an "imperial" doesn't make it any better.

Fall is my favorite season, but give me a Berliner Weisse or Gose over ANY Pumpkin beer ANY time!

That said, I'm always ready for Ayinger Oktoberfest!

I love Goose Island Harvest Ale. I haven't found a pumpkin beer that I love.

I still have a couple of Pumkings from last year. Local distributor ordered way too many and a store ordered a few cases at a discount over the winter/spring. I took advantage.

Alewerk's Pumpkin Ale FTW. Can do without any other seasonal beer so long as I get my hands on that.

I'm also open to trading Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale for anyone who doesn't have access to it.

I still have a bomber of Warlock from last year, so I'm eagerly awaiting a side-by-side comparison.

You need to make a trip to Charleston, SC. I was just at TW a few hours ago and they must have brought some more in from elsewhere. We already had about 12-15 cases sitting in its usual spot (collecting dust) and today I saw a separate display with about another 15-20 cases!!

Didn't Goose Island retire that beer and replace it with a Red IPA?

Pumking just made its way to Long Island today as well.

Can't get into pumpkin beers, myself. They taste like Michaels Arts & Crafts.
