I agree this is an awesome list... however....

When I went last year, my guess is that less than half of the "special" beers were tapped at the start of the event. When I asked the bartender about the other beers, he mentioned some would be tapped later that evening, and some would likely be tapped later in the week, depending on what they went through that evening. Considering how many tap handles DD has, that makes complete sense (it only caught me by surprise because I had never been there before and didn't know what to expect). I only mention this, in case there is a particular beer someone wants to try from the list, they might want to call over to DD to make sure it's been tapped before heading over.

With that list at Devil's Den, just go and have a good time. There's not a bad beer in the bunch. Remember, it's just beer, enjoy yourself

Yes. If you have an Iphone or Android phone you can download the PBW app for your phone. App is much more customizable compared to the website

Agreed. However, there were some specific beers I was hoping to try at last year's event, and so I was a bit disappointed by what the bartender told me. Don't get me wrong, I still found plenty of great beer to drink at the event, and I did have a good time... on the other hand, if I were to go again and there was something specific I wanted to try, I would call DD first.

The problem is (if you want to call this a problem) that there are so many great events, and so many opporunities to try something exceptional that I've never sampled before, I have no choice but to organize my priorities (seeing as how I'm coming from out of town). I can't do them all, and often times I'll go to a particular event, just to try a specific beer. So yeah, it's a bit of a disappointment if I make a special trip to try something, only to find out it's not available.

I see where you're coming from. PBW is overwhelming to say the least. Hopefully they are small kegs and they kick fast so you can get in as many as you were looking to try

Is there some type of Bat Signal for the spreadsheet guy? I work in IT, but have no idea how to dump all that data into a sheet without manually expanding each event, which would take hours and hours. How about we all pitch in a buck to two to pay a data entry temp to do this for us?

Edit: I tried to View Source on a n event day page and it crashed my browser. It would still be a very ugly cut and paste. There might be some freeware out there to make the job easier, but I don't have the time to mess with it right now.

A little help from the PBW vets would be welcome......

Thinking about heading to Philly early Monday the 4th staying in Center City and leaving Tuesday early afternoon. I'm looking at the events, but am just overwhelmed. The Cigar City/Funky Buddah at Hulmeville would be great to hit, but it starts at six and is out in the burbs which makes getting back into the city a concern. Anyone have any suggestions if I were to just stay in the city and not head out to Hulmeville?

The 2/2/2 happy hours at Teresa's look absurd. Won't be able to get there at all (especially since I bet the Hill Farmstead event will be bonkers), and that makes me sad. Looking to go to 3-4 of the Capones events, and RR brunch at TDR

Here's the details on JBs & Frankford Hall FestivALE: https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/241976822569060/

Looks like they are going lowkey with the beer, which is probably a good idea because my liver is usually a wreck by Thursday.

    Alsoooooooooo......

Anyone doing Farmer's Rare on Mondee the 4th? There is so much competiton I hope it's not crowded. I'm not even posting the tap list, its ridiculous.

Insane list there. I think I have to re-arrange my schedule to get over there for that.

honestly, if you're staying in center city and only have one day, you might as well just stay in town. there's so many things going on without having to go out into the burbs.

    i'd suggest:
the farmers cabinet: rare beer tapping (lots of european beers you hardly ever see)
monks: de molen (bunch of rare kegs including a one-off that tom brewed with them)
hawthornes: 50/50 (like 8 draft beers and eclipses too)
pope: founders (kbs or something like that will probably show up)
city tap house: goose island (15 beers including something bourbon county)

these places are at different spots around the city, but most are easily accesible from center city, with city tap house being the farthest away. if you're going to eat i'd suggest monks or hawthornes (or both!) enjoy.

we will be announcing the winner of the philly voodoo barrel aged release competition friday during our event at doobies. thanks to everyone that participated and supported us. we're sorry we didn't make a new beer this year for pbw, but with our pub opening in a few weeks, we had to divert resources.

Does anyone know if Monk's, Teresa's, Hawthorne's Jose Pistola's, Devil's Den, and Hulmeville do flights? Too many damn good beers I want to try.

Teresa's generally does not do flights, but they'll let you sample anything on the draft list. Pretty sure DD and Monks' don't either, though maybe for PBW? I'm just not certain.

Man, that blows. Far too many good beers on at the Bella Vista event and the HF Teresa's event to plow through and still have a liver.

Tell me about it. Coming up from Baltimore, I have to be very careful about what events I attend, and how long I can stay. Generally I can only do a couple events a day, and I make sure that I drink plenty of water and eat something. Also, far too many places won't or don't offer samplers, tasters or flights, so I just end up dumping a lot of beer that I order. I hate to do it, but when you have 10 or 12 ounce glasses of Abner, Edward, double citra and Ephraim staring you in the face, what are you gonna do? I hate to throw them out, but the alternative is much, much worse.
