No more Belgian Red at Rays. They has a sign up saying its a seasonal release now. Time to find a few bottles to hold me over.

Orders were still limited to 5...seems the distributor is leaking it out slowly.

I think we can rule out BB Kriek for this year. Cran-Bic should be the other sour TB released later in the year.

Yeah- that disappeared quickly. A few shops still have bottles, but no case for our wedding :slight_frown:

Wonder if they'll come up with a better name. Cran-Bic makes me think of a cheap pen filled with dark red ink.

It is so damn good they could call it Rotten Cran and I would still buy it.

No BB Kriek this year? Sources?

Oh well... I think there's been enough insanity over New Glarus sours in this thread already; gotta let people cool their heels and save up money to buy multiple cases of the next sour release.

I haven't quite equaled a case yet. 4 4-packs, I think. But I'm kicking myself for not saving some money by just buying a case in the first place.

For all you Milwaukeeans who enjoy buying cases: Not NG related, but Whole Foods has 4-packs of 2014 Bigfoot @ $5.99 per. That equals a whopping $36 +tax for a case. Not a bad deal and a great cellaring beer.

All we have confirmation for is Apple Ale and Cran-Bic. There has been zero talk of it lately. I'd be ecstatic if BB Kriek still came out, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

That is a dam steal. I wonder if the Whole Foods in Madison would have a similar sale.

I think the buyer in Milwaukee either got a deal on a pallet that another shop returned (Barleywine "season" being done and gone) or they just wanted to clear space for other seasonals. Looked to have 15-20 cases on the floor and an open case in the cooler.

I've never seen Whole Foods mark a beer down so far. Why not just keep it in the back and put it out as a vertical next year @ full price? They need a more creative beer buyer.

Did not see bigfoot there last week, but also wasn't looking for it so I may have missed it.

It's probably a one-off sale at MKE only. Also possible that our distributor here had pallets to unload and WF took them up on a deal.

I just came back from a Beergrimage to WI and the NG brewery. As of yesterday, the beer depot @ NG was sold out of Scream but said they would be getting some more at some point soon. They had many cases of Old Bruin left. The only fruit beers they had were Raspberry Tart, Rhubarb and Serendipity.

I stopped in a few places in Madison last night. No Scream at Steves on Junction. I was finally able to find Scream at Woodmans West. There were a few 4-packs left. I stopped at a few places in Beloit on my drive back to CHI today. No Scream or Old Bruin to be found in the three spots I checked. I was unable to find Belgian Red anywhere. Unfortunate since that is my favorite NG beer.

All in all though, a great trip to WI. Wonderful state and some very tasty beers!

Yeah, smaller non-beercentric shops and Pick n' Saves are probably going to be our best bet for Belgian Red until they release another batch.

Scream should be bottled again soon, if my guesstimates on brew-time are correct. I think NG bottle dates with Julian dates... or maybe they don't date at all?

    Dates are on bottle neck.

The Isthmus article indicated Cran-bic. Can you remind me again where we got confirmation on Apple Ale?

Looks like they've brewed Cran-Bic twice. In 2011, they did both Cran-bic and Apple Ale. In late 2009, they brewed Cran-bic, but they did not brew Apple Ale that year (they last time they did not brew Apple Ale, for those keeping score).

I think somebody mentioned a distributor talking Apple Ale availability. But I never trust those guys. It's their job to sell beer, not to accurately describe the beer they're selling.

Maybe Dan or Deb mentioned something in an article???

Most distributors don't know shit until it's in the warehouse. Brewery sales rep is a marginally better source of information, but they keep them in the dark too (at least New Glarus does from my conversations with one).

BB Kriek feels like a stronger rumor at this point than Apple Ale. But assuming a good apple harvest, I have to believe they'll make Apple Ale. Maybe BB Kriek goes January if they make Apple Ale, or November if they don't.

    All speculation at this point.

I posted a tweet in this thread from one the liquor store managers in Madison that had an order sheet to buy Hometown Blonde and Apple Ale.
