Some updates and a POV on beers that run out before the event ends.....

Figueroa Mountain Brewing, AC Golden Brewing and Hogshead Brewery have joined the list of those committed to attend.

Each year we host the event we usually have 3-4 breweries run out of beer around 60-90 minutes into the event, but that is when we have all ticket holders in the building (500-650 people). The VIP session this year has 200 paid guests for the first hour.

The nature of a rare beer event is that brewers have a limited supply of the beer, in some cases what the bring to the Denver Rare Beer Tasting is all they have of the beer they are pouring. We set a minimum amount that they must bring and many brewers actually donate more than the minimum. We are expanding the number of brewers that we have invited this year, giving everyone attending more options. But popular beers running out at beer festivals is nothing exclusive to the Denver Rare Beer Tasting.

As the tasting progresses there will be beers that run out. People who have attended previous years will tell you that there are a good number of brewers pouring beer at the end of the event. We understand it is frustrating if the one beer you came to taste is gone by the time you try to get a pour. We have two suggestions for people concerned about this issue: 1. Check out the beer list that will be published in advance of the event or the program when you arrive and enjoy those "must have beers" early; and 2. Give some of the new beers and breweries a try. Among the most favorable comments we get each year are from people who say they tried a beer from a new brewery and were blown away.

We added the VIP session this year as a result of comments and requests from past attendees. It sold out pretty quickly, so it proved to be a popular addition. We have also added a second floor, new breweries and brought back old favorites based on survey feedback. Our goal is for everyone to have a great time, while supporting Pints for Prostates and the fight against prostate cancer.

We appreciate the brewers who step forward to make this possible and the craft beer fans who pay good money to get the chance to try some beers that few others get the chance to sample. We are looking forward to having a great time on Oct. 3rd!

Breweries bring some of their rarest brews to the annual tasting. The beer list for the Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI will be released prior to the event. A list of beers poured during the first five years is available on the Pints for Prostates website.

Tickets for the event are on sale now. VIP tickets for the event are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available for $110 each for the 1-4 p.m. tasting. Each attendee receives a commemorative tasting glass, t-shirt, program and pen. A buffet lunch is included in the ticket price and guests will have the chance to bid in an exciting silent auction that includes a variety of unique beer experiences and collectibles. All attendees at the event will also be entered into a drawing taking place that day for a nine night trip for two to Prague, Bamberg, Cologne and Brussels. The first five Denver Rare Beer Tastings sold out in advance. The event will be held this year on two floors of the McNichols Civic Center Building at 144 W. Colfax Ave.

Any demographics on location of purchasers specifically for VIP? Just curious to see if most VIP attendees will be CO locals or a good mix of people traveling in for GABF week...

Yea, Uber would be about $100 there and back. Might have to do the unmentionable and try to sell my ticket so I can see Tom Petty... :slight_frown:

Fair enough. Red Rocks is probably one of the best music venues in the country too. I literally have never been to a bad show there. Find a way to do both!

Seen Tool, A Perfect Circle and Rob Zombie there, by far the best venue ever.

Just got my Petty tix and Machine Head who is playing across the street from Falling Rock on Saturday... what a week!

Bob Dylan at Red Rocks was the worst concert I've ever been to. Gawdawful.

@XmnwildX12 I wonder if you can take the light rail west, then uber it. May be cheaper that way

Perhaps we should issue an invite Tom and the band to swing by for a beer or three before the show. :grinning:
