Other than the complaint of the Bramble and Vanilla bait and switch, it was fantastic. I drank about 20 top notch beers. The best being Lou Pepe Framboise. Luckily for us half the room lined up for Utopia at 9pm when Lou Pepe Framboise went on. I was able to get 4 pours. And that was after getting multiple pours of Iris. Thanks Shelton Brothers! Can't wait for next year.

The best part was, I jumped in the 10 person line at 9:10-9:15 and waited about a minute and got some Utopias. Lou Pepe was probably my favorite as well

Sounds like it was a really nice event.
If anybody tried, any opinions on Iqhilika Fig Mead and Two Roads Igor's Dream?

No igors. Apparently there were issues with the keg

Almost a year late, but I am reminiscing about the 2013 list...missed so much good stuff, some of which I didn't even know about. I did get the Fig Mead, mostly because I was in line for the Ola Dubh 30, which lasted about 4 people. I was 5-6 in line and got none.

The mead was very good, but not earth shattering. Not overly sweet for a mead, and could probably have used a bit more fig flavor.

Can't wait to see the 2014 list now that BA has opened my eyes in a few areas.

Beervana fest has ruined any other beer fest in my eyes. I am reluctant to go to any other fest. My favorite was still the Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise (wish I could find a bottle of this) and Cantillon Mamouche. The barrel aged bigfoot was really good, as was Prairie's Merica and Goose Island's Cherry Rye. Can't wait to go back this year.

Also, the after party at Julians is a must. Got some Cantillon St. Gilloise and 2010 WWS. Both were incredible.

I hadn't really even heard of Cantillon at the time (and I went to Beervana in 2010, 2012, 2013), so missed it. Missed the Utopias. Got some KBS and Bakcwoods Bastard for the first time. Got some of this too: Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien. I'll take a new approach this year, excited to see the list. No after-party for me though, I could never drink another drop after Beervana. Long ride back to MA as it is.

My former boss lives in Brussels and comes here 4 times a year. I usually meet with him and have dinner. What does Cantillon cost over there? Easy to find?

Seconded. It's a great time and really well run.

It's apparently quite abundant since the brewery is about 5 minutes away from Brussels. You must make him bring some with him.

I skipped out on Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien and have since read some great things about it. I got Utopias too, but I didn't have to wait in that long line.

Had no qualms about how it was run last year. Would've preferred more food though. The waffles were awesome, and I'm sure Julians was as well, but it seemed to lack something.

I waited the initial Utopia line out and got 2 pours with no wait either time. It was flowing at last years event, they cracked quite a few bottles.

I can agree with that. I'm not huge on waffles and none of the Julian's food was calling my name either. I had enough from that popcorn stand to hold me over until after though.

That's exactly what I did. Aside from the fact I was able to get LP Framboise while people were lined up for Utopias. Wish I would've asked for the empty bottle of Utopias though.

I think more appetizer type foods would work very well there. I'm not trying to have a big ass waffle, I want something quick to get something in my stomach and then go back to drinking.

I loved the waffle, but the popcorn was great and is a nice alcohol absorber. Popcorn delivery was a little slow is my only complaint. I gave up on Julian's, as the food is a bit spicy for a situation where I'm drinking a lot of high abv beers.

Rich, agree some appetizer type foods would be good.

It definitely was. Thought I would be too drunk to taste how good the Cantillon and WWS was. NOPE!

I'm not sure if you've noticed but this forums content is almost exclusively lists. Stories about lists, lists of favorites, suggestions/recommendations, lists of what people sampled or drank last night....if your not into lists I don't know why you log in here.

Then it's your opinion that I should just stop looking at this website?

He was responding in this thread to a comment I made in a totally different thread. Odd choice, but ok.

If you think lists based on people's opinions are "useless", then yes, as that is what this site and forum are mainly comprised of.
