I have a friend that will be coming from the Dallas area to my hometown in about a month. I'm trying to help him locate a great bottle shop on the north side of Dallas. Can I get some help? He is just east of Carrolton near where the 2 toll roads intersect (Geroge Bush & Dallas North) if that helps. I guess as a secondary could you throw out some good bottle shops near downtown as well?

Also does anyone have a JK release schedule or know what's easy to get right now & what is out that is harder to acquire, but can be found? Anything around the corner in late July, August? Thanks everyone!

The best bet is Lonestar Beverages. They just got Provenance orange and grapefruit yesterday. Jk is pretty much not distributing anymore. He may still find dad wunderkind, that's about it.

You are likely only going to find 1 JK beer around. JK rarely releases beers to distribution anymore and when they do, it is limited quantities that go quickly. They mostly only sell at the brewery. So, harder to find stuff will only be at JK.

to add, they have no brew schedules at all, and are very good at keeping releases quiet until a few days before

No, they do have a schedule. Release randomly great beer every weekend. Good enough schedule for me.

Wow I never even knew that. Thanks for the heads up guys! I'm up here in Kansas City & got some decent stuff for trade if anyone has any JK sours or imperial stouts to trade up. Shoot me an IM please! Cheers! Thanks for the help

JK really does not make imperial stouts anymore.

Man you guys are really bumming me out now!!! Only released at brewery, no release schedule, no more imperial stouts. And yet the demand continues to climb for their beers. Hey if that formula works, rock it! Just jealous they aren't a bit closer.

They have not really done imperial stouts since the beginning. They make Funk Metal which is about as dark as it gets for them.

They are just focused on more farmhouse/sours than BA stouts these days.

As someone who lives in Austin, I cannot complain about the brewery release only. But, that is for selfish reasons.

Part of the reason about no release schedule is they release things when they are ready. We will generally know about what is coming up before it is released for some of the bigger ones (Atrial/Nocturn). JK is pretty good on here about giving us a general timeframe (like saying sometime in the next couple of weeks). But, they also release a bunch of things most people had no idea they were about to release (Encendia, Detritivore, Bier de Miel, etc). In other words, usually on B1 of what could be one offs, we don't know. Other ones, we have a good idea.

For those of us who live nearby, it's a complete joy. It can be immensely frustrating for everyone else.

I love their labels too. Was especially hoping for a Funk Metal & Black Metal. Among enjoying awesome beers, I collect labels & was hoping to add theirs to my collection. Check some of them out if you like label art...

Jester Kings labels (for the 750s) can be a bitch to remove.

Just take him to Strangeways and split a bottle of Boxer's Revenge or Ambree

You have it backwards, the friend in Dallas is going to visit OP in (presumably) MO.

If you just want some empty JK bottles for the labels, I'm going to head to DFW toward the end of the month, though I don't think I have an empty Funk or Black Metal currently.

Anyone have any luck as of late finding any JK? Have tried a few places in Dallas near my apartment with no luck (lonestar bevs and specs off inwood).. Any suggestions on where to find some?

Oh it's not too bad, long as you're willing to get in the car and drive to Austin.
