How so? His parents are the ones who got delayed, the beer was bought in Feb, 1 - 3 months after bottling depending on bottle date.

As far as my opinion, and after reading most of these 50/50 comments, id say it depends how it was handled previous to purchase which we dont always know right? I personally had my last 6 pk about a month or so ago. Most of the honey was gone but it was still very good and alot of the hops were still there, I enjoyed it very much, and had no experience with them being a malt bomb whatsoever.

I had some relatively fresh Hopslam from this year's brew and it already seemed like the alcohol was coming through and the hops were greatly dissipated. IMO Hopslam has good years and bad years, this years not being one of the better brews that Bell's has put out. I definitely recommend getting it into a glass and letting it breathe a little bit and it will be a bit better than if you drink it straight from the bottle right out of the fridge. At $80, I definitely wouldn't toss the beers, just plan on being a little let down from the hype, if you can, save one or two to try a side by side with the Hopslam brew in 2015.

I bought a case the week it came out. Somehow 2 of them made there way to the back of the fridge. I drank one yesterday. Definitely a malt bomb now. But, it was very odd. Some good sweet flavors coming through and it was boozy as a barleywine. No bitterness or hop presence was there to my tastebuds. Drinkable? Yes. I wouldn't call it Hopslam anymore. But, I drank the whole thing and thought, "I've had 100 worse beers than this. Bottoms up."

    Copy and paste this:

    Dear Mr & Mrs. Quadrider,

I am lucky to have found you! I am in need of your help very quickly.

In 2009 my country has been gone on a civil war. Before the war started our prime minister (my father) put money in an offshore account to protect the assets of my country. There is $40000000 in an account, but I need someone from outside my country to help me get it so I may start our way to freedom. I will pay you 10% of this money if you were to be my help.

All I need is for you to pack up some Hopslam to my friend in Michigan as a bribe, then he will buy me a ticket so I can fly to the country where my father deposited the money, and I can be of freedom with my people.

Best is what I wish for you and your family.
    Sincerely,
    Iam Maltbomb

Ive had two year old Hopslam that was fantastic...I tasted it back to back with a fresh bottle...two completely different beers...but the aged Hopslam was amazing

Makes me wonder how kegged Hopslam is doing now. I was at a bar two days ago that had it on tap. I passed over it because I didn't want to pay $8 to find out, but just curious if anyone has.

In the (paraphrased) immortal words of Mark Twain, "The reports of a less than fresh IPA being dead have been greatly exaggerated."

I've had plenty that were perfectly fine. Drink up!

I also assume... the guy who was nice enough to share didn't say how he stored it...he did say he has aged several years of Hopslam and the one I tasted paled in comparison to how good the older ones taste...the one I had was rich and smooth, a little edge of caramel, no hop presence, and a wonderful whiskey-like flavor

All I'm saying is...if you find you don't like them, let me know and we will do a trade or I will straight buy it off you. Aged hopslam is great! And no matter what, beer is always safe to drink, even after a nuclear blast! Soooo id say drink and enjoy, or trade and get what you want lol
