Looks like my packaged was delivered! If my fiance' can make it home before she has to leave for work, then I'll be opening it up tonight! If not, then I'll pick it up from the leasing office tomorrow and I'll be posting some sweet **** in the morning!

I would much rather share any top beer I get my hand on over trading it. The biggest reason is that who knows if I'll even like it?

Great example is Blueberry Flora. I got a bottle and immediately shared it that night with 4 other people who enjoyed it more than I did. Drinking that alone, or trading it and drinking whatever I got for it alone didn't even register with me.

The trades I like best are the ones that are "Hey man can you get X shelf beer? I've never tried it" or "Want to trade a few beers, I see I have a want of yours I get pretty easily." Those go the best.

I've got a few guys who are booked to share the first bottle with me.

Oh... and there was a delivery in the Rockies.

I can attest to this. I literally met Keith that morning and I was one of the people he shared his bottle with that evening. Stand up guy with a classy move.

EDIT: He needs an avatar already!

Trying to confuse people already? I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting -- but if it gets posted elsewhere, I will provide a link!

Ummm yeah it does, like the 28lbs of FFF and NG you dropped on my porch today! @edhizdeid is a long term trading partner from a previous BIF, and he's the man. Would fit around these parts perfectly!

Also UPDATE: MN will have a 6pk on the truck tomorrow. Be on the look out and get that growler cold asap.

UPDATE #2: I will be popping the Heady from @kgncfl's 6pk trade bc the wife and baby girl are happy and back home after a whirlwind 36 hours. Man oh man we all need to love our moms for what they did to get us here! :sunglasses:

    Cheers Fellas!

Congrats again @heystevec ! I have never traded and wanted to start, then discovered BIF's. I stalked one then joined this. I am still not sure what local stuff of mine is most in demand (probably Ithaca and captain Lawrence) but a lot depends on where my target is. I am also close (an hour from) Peekskill brewery, which may be the best beer in the state, but they don't bottle and you never know what they will have on tap.

@EA728 dropped a box of Texas goodies on me. Fortunately, my contractor(uncle) was working on the basement, so the damage was repaired before I got home!

    So let's see...

What TX box doesn't start with Saint Arnold?
    22oz Boiler Room Berliner weiss
    12oz Endeavor IIPA

And some Jester King? Yes, please, and thank you.
    750ml Encendia

Southern Star? Never heard of 'em. Want some? Damn right , I do!
    12oz Buried Hatchet stout
500ml Black Crack(BA Buried Hatchet, cuz who doesn't want the base & BA?)

And finally, for some Okie love:
    500ml Prairie Funky Gold Mosaic

Many, many thank you's. It's an awesome box, and I've never had any of them. My boys will appreciate some far flung goodness at Saturday's Q.

Thats a killer box! Also I love the juxtaposition of the KANE 2L growlers and the protein blender. Looks all too familiar!

Am I one of them?

This. So much this. Or it should be a faux book cover titled "The Canterbeery Tales"

Sixpoint and Brooklyn are both pretty solid breweries and neither has an entirely national footprint, so commit to memory the parts of the country that don't get their beers, Carton is pretty limited and Kane even more so, so if it's worth the drive for you, they'd always be in demand as well, especially as their reputation grows.

But yes, Ithaca (mostly Flower Power) is pretty sought after on the 'locals' level, I did a trade with a guy that was 4 Alpines for a sixer of FP and a sixer of Jai Alai and we were both thrilled with the results.

I was in Houston when Black Crack dropped... you'd think they were giving away bags full of actual crack along with it the way it was flying off shelves, the one bottle shop had 9 when I walked in, and including the one I purchased, were out by the time I left, two others were already sold out by the time I got there.

I don't think I have any more of the locals from my 1st round box, but I'll find something nice to toast with! I know in the 'other' big BIF thread everyone considered themselves an honorary uncle of each new arrival...

And tonight, The Locals has our first honorary niece!

Some Thursday evening beer pR0n for everyone courtesy of @devilfluff and "Southwycks Gourmet Marinades" (Love it!) who crushed my porch with some delicious summer brews!

    Carton Boat Beer
Carton 077XX X2 (Heard really good things about this brewery)
Spring House Big Gruesome (Sweet! This sounds delicious)
Weyerbacher Nineteen (Have never had any of their anny brews and I love mangoes)
Round Guys Fear of a Brett Planet (Never heard of em, no clue.... Sounds awesome!)

Thanks for the sweet box man!!!

Nice pick on Fear of a Brett Planet! @Kramerbarthomer - if you like hoppy and you like Brett, and you think putting the two together is a good idea, you'll really enjoy this beer. Was very unique but in retrospect it's exactly what I'd expect a hoppy APA to be like if it was 100% brett fermented (and not just brett conditioned, that usually does next to nothing in my experience). Round Guys is actually super local to me, within about 10, maybe 15 miles. And since you've picked BG and a Weyerbacher, I guess @devilfluff is trying to be an honorary Pennsylvanian?

also, BM me when you figure out when you're opening the BA BG, I'll try to swing by for a taste.
