    Just a quick update to my earlier post, in addition to my brother and I, a friend is also interested in joining up. John is his name and hes not on BA at the moment. Did we nail down a location for this Mondays practice?

    Tentatively plan for Campanelli Park at 1024 W. Weathersfield Way. I'll go checkout the fields after work today or tomorrow and confirm that they are available. This is pretty close to my house and you are certainly welcome to come over for a bottle share afterward. I'll bring a cooler to practice.

    :/ this sounds fun as fuck and I want to join, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be in the schaumburg area. There's a reasonable chance I'll be moving out in september/october.

    I'd still love to share some beers (dump my cellar) with the schaumburg gang at some point though. Don't think I've had a chance to meet many so far.

    You could join and play at least half the season, maybe the whole thing depending on the timing of your move. You are also more than welcome to cheer on the team and dump cellar bottles with the group between now and then, too.

    Dicks has a great price on a Miken Maniac double wall alloy bat ($99, was $149). I'll make it optional but it would be cool if each player could pay $10 extra to buy it as a team bat.

    Who keeps the team bat at the end of the season? Can we buy team beers with the $10 instead? :wink:

    Is Alcohol allowed at the game field? I think I've played soccer at Olympic Park and they say no. If not is there a venue to hit afterwards?

    Also do we need a team name?

    I cant make this Monday as I will be traveling for work. I have about 4 or 5 bats including some very new ones (demarinis, etc). My wife has a friend who works at Wilsons Sporting goods, so I have gotten some great deals.

    Also have an exra set of Nike size 10 spikes. As a Captain of my other team, I have a whole bag of used game balls.

    We need to scout for a post game beer spot!

    Post game beer spots in the area are Beer Market, Stonewood Alehouse, Wickets, and Tokio Pub.

    Practice is set for Monday (tomorrow) at 6pm at Campanelli Park at 1024 W. Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg.

    Anyone wanting to can come bottle share at my house afterward. I'll bring a cooler to practice.

    I'll also bring the roster to start taking official sign ups and payments.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone!

    So what kind of beer does everyone like? My cellar is primarily sours and stouts with a few barley wines mixed in. I have some homebrewed IPAs and Berliner weisses too. I vote for post game gatherings to lean heavier on bottle shares than going to establishments like the beer market (has anyone gone there lately? Their prices are out of control!) and I could host from time to time if people are okay with driving to streamwood.
