Just curious... Has Old Rasputin been bottled every year since the first? Also, which year IS the first year of bottling? Thanks in advance guys and gals! Cheers!

Would also be interested to hear about this. You also reminded me that I need to go get some to put away!

From what I've read, it was first brewed in 1995 & first bottled in 1996. Old Rasputin's tenth anniversary was 2006 with "Old Rasputin X" being released in 2007 after being BB aged for a year. "Anniversary" batches have been released annually ever since excluding one year (XIII) so I'm not positive as to whether or not it's been bottled every year...

Just read on North Coast's website that Old Ras won awards for 7 of the 10 years between '96-'06, so it's probably safe to say it's been consistently bottled and there could be vintages from every year floating around out there. Love to get my hands on some!

Also remembered, the brewery (very) occasionally releases back stock of cellared Raspy & BA Raspy, albeit at a pretty high price, so if you can find someone in the area that might be your best shot to grab a vertical. Cheers, hope the recovery is going swell!

Thanks for the information and well wishes my friend. Apparently I'm 1/4 badass when it comes to handling pain... Haha! I might have to check with some locals as price is no object on putting this tasting together. Cheers!

first let's disclaimer i'm no expert on the subject matter. based on slight variations (i suspect beyond the usual "aging" spectrum), i'm going to guess they brew multiple batches in a calendar year. as far as vintage info, except for the brewery's assistance, in a lot of instances, that might be kind of hard to determine/verify - no?

i had some cases from 2008 & 2009 i've sat on but basically i know this because i marked the boxes with details of when i picked them up. North Coast's cases do exhibit a numeric case code/ type serial number but other than that i'm not sure if there is any other obvious information that tells one when a bottle (disassociated with its case) was bottled. perhaps there's a detail i never noticed /overlooked?
