We priced these at $15.99 for the 4 pack, only got 2 cases to sell so its a word of mouth type of thing.

We have had Devil Dancer here in Western Mass. for well over a month. $21-22/4. It seems to have been selling very slowly in some stores at that price. Sometimes 50% more hops is not worth paying 50% more.
$11 for four Dirt Wolves is top of the market. I bought mine last Fall for $8.79 in Connecticut, and lately I saw some in New Jersey for $7.89.

Finally got some fresh "Dub Trub" here in Western Mass. Odd that so far it has only been officially provided to three of the many dozens of stores in the area. Two of those are quite small locals, the third is one of a chain of three. The first one that I went to, on Friday, was already sold out. Saturday I found it at one of the others for $12/4, not a bad price, although more than the competition, SN's Hoptimum, which is usually $10/4. That same day I saw it at a fourth store, which was not supposed to be getting it according to the Founders website, for $13.

Since I last checked Friday, DT has arrived at a whole bunch (32 more within 30 miles) of other stores in my area. That probably indicates that your area is now also awash in the stuff. If you still want some, live in the eastern part of the US where their distribution is pretty complete, and haven't Founders any yet, good chance you will now. I had one from my 6/17 bottled pack last night and it was very good, although I'm not sure it is better than the $2+ cheaper SN Hoptimum. You be the judge. Cheers!

In this area, nothing is cheap. I'm not sure it's less than $10 at Victory in PA. $10+ for Dirt Wolf is fine in the DC area generally. And I'm happy to pay that when it's fresh and on the shelf. Same goes for some other local IPAs. OTWOA can get closer to $20/6-pack and Sculpin is $15+ (when usually not fresh). Just depends on the location, I guess.

They had it at craft beer cellar in braintree, but I didn't see it last time I was in so maybe it sold out.

A bit off topic, but a bar around the corner from my house has 12 oz pours of DT for $10.50. This seems out of line expensive to me, but I'd be fine with $8.50. Thoughts?

It's always tempting late night when the fridge is empty.

Not logical or based on any study, but if I see something at 200% of the bottle price for a 12oz. I might think that is reasonable for a pour at the bar. Making some money, paying the bills. That just seems like 4x a bottle price. Seems like you should find an entire 4 pack for what they are charging for one pour. Probably a little excessive.

four packs are going for closer to $20 than $10. I think I paid 18 or 19 for the one I bought. considering that the bar isn't as overpriced as I thought by your math. It's only a little over twice bottle price. I might go drink one tomorrow. Thanks for convincing me to waste my money.

    cheers!

Are we talking about Double Trouble? I think I've seen that more like $14-$15. The Devil Dancer was like $25. Either way, it's probably worth buying 12 oz. You never know, it might be the best thing you've ever tasted. At least, that is what I tell myself when I spend too much on a new beer.

I've always found it to be very bright from the dominating amarillo; a lot like a higher gravity Sculpin. I've also always found Harvest to be extremely resinous with green hop flavors. Have you been drinking more IPAs this past year than you have in years prior? Cheers

$10-11/4-pack here, I'm sorry many of you are dealing with gauging :slight_frown:

Just opened my first Double Trouble of the year (7/9) and it is drinking very well. More balanced than I remember - packs a solid wallop of hops up front with a well-rounded malt backbone keeping things in check through to a drying finish. Very tasty and going down way too smoothly for a 9.4 percenter.

I saw a 4 pack at a local store and before seeing that i never even heard of it. There was only one of them but i already had other beers and didnt do enough research on it to feel confident enough in picking it up. But next time im near that packie i will snag it (assuming its still their). it probably wont be this years batch though : |
