It's a Pumking pin that I got when I bought it. The shop had a bunch of them that they were giving away.

Agree...pretty annoying when heading to the beach in August and you can't find any summer session beers anymore since the shelves are loaded with fall seasonals and what is left is at that point is fairly old.

Just saw Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin on the shelf yesterday. I work for a distributor and I know that we have already sent out some Leinie's Oktoberfest and have Sam Adams Octoberfest in our warehouse and are just waiting to push through the Summer Ale.

To meet ever-increasing demand. A production facility can produce a certain amount of beer in a given amount of time. If that amount of beer is not enough to meet demand, the brewery can either expand the production facility or increase the amount of time that the beer is produced for. It makes sense that they would just start brewing earlier as opposed to expanding the facility. As others have stated, I love Pumking and don't see why this would annoy anyone, except for the fact that its a reminder that summer is coming to an end.

I didn't read every post in this thread so it may have already been said, but Warlock is available here alongside Pumking. I'm psyched about it, I still like to drink all kinds of beers in the summer. The more variety the better!

I would be totally ok with Almanac producing their Brandy Barrel Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine year round. That shit was tremendous!Other than that I won't revisit any pumpkin beers I've had before besides that one.Now or in October.Just personal preference.

I asked this in regards to Good Gourd. I was told that it ages awesome. Can even be better. I have a few bottles from 2013 so I plan on finding out.

I still see some Uinta Oak Jacked Pumpkin from last year floating around in stores near me. I wonder how that ages...

Weyerbacher released an article about this last year. Basicly its because they can only devote so much space to brewing seasonal beers while keeping up with supplying year round beers. because they only have a small amount brewing at any given time they need to start early to meet demand.

Just buy it early and sit on it

    People buy them.

Frankly if you love pumpkin beers, why not have them year round for your drinking pleasure?

I love tomatoes and fresh salsa so if you told me I could grow tomatoes year round I would. Same with strawberries, fresh green beans, cucumbers etc. Much better than store bought.

Do you eat apples, strawberries, oranges, lettuce etc. year round? Those are seasonal foods as well. Why not pumpkin?

Oddly enough my store has some St. Bern Christmas leftover from last year. Still quite delicious.

As for pumpkin beer, I've been tired of summer brews since the end of May. I welcome any glasses of gourds with open arms. We've actually just put a year-old case of Oak Jacked on the shelf this week, which is one of my favorites.

My store has St Bernardus Christmas from god knows how many years ago. Not sure a bottle has moved since I started going there about 2010. I should buy one and try it.
