With Double Dba more seeing it's last bottle release, what could be next? With the recent releases of Velvet Merkin and Stickee Monkee, we could see maybe Bravo or Helldorado next (most likely). But what are you hoping for? Could it be the ever-so- sought-after Parabajava or maybe a second running of PNC? Or maybe it'll be a brand new beer.

I've had firestone walker twice and didn't like it either time (first union jack and then double union jack). I think it could have been an issue of shelf-life, though, seeing at how many positive reviews their beers get (either that or it's another overrated Cali. beer that's been hyped up by locals prior to interstate release).

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing if they came out with an American Wild Ale to complement their diverse portfolio. I always like to give breweries another shot.

I think Bravo was probably my second-favorite of what they were pouring at the Bretta Weisse release (just a hair behind DDBA#60, and just a bit ahead of Rufus). Never had PNC or Parabajava. And I guess I can't hope for Saucerful o' Secrets

They actually have quite a few wild ales.

Yeah, but who knows if they're any good?

Barrel-aged (this is what your post was pertaining to, right?)?

I was referring to what will be replacing double dba.

I know. Do they have a barrel-aged Wild/Strong Ale? Stone's is simply marvelous.

What Stone beer is barrel-aged and considered a wild ale?

Ah, not Stone. I was thinking of Russian River's Consecration (although that's not aged in oak barrels, to my knowledge).

Russian River is basically the godfather of west coast sours. Stone apparently doesn't want to get into the sour business until they dedicate a new facility just to that. Firestone Walker has done that very thing, and they have plenty of wild barrel-aged beers they could certainly distribute.

Good to know. Haven't seen any on the East coast, so I wouldn't know about 'em.

I've been told by my firestone rep that it's going to be helldorado

Hell Dorado has been off the BarrelWorks taps for quite some time now. Would make sense that its Hell Dorado. And that is fantastic news, as thats one of the best Barley Wines Ive had.

So far my experience has been that if FW barrel ages it, it's good! Even better after a year. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but FW that makes it to the shelf might as well be a separate brand from FW 22s in the cardboard boxes. They're ALL "world class." If only easier to get outside CA...

I don't reach for to much FW shelf stuff (DBA is great however) but they do barrel aging better than anyone else, IMO. I would definitely give their BA stuff a chance even if you didn't care for the shelf stuff.

There are 5, 000 reviews. That isn't hype by the locals.
I suggest you get some Jacks that are reasonably fresh and discover what you have been missing.
