Collaboration Fest was fun, but I won't be attending Sesh Fest, it just doesn't appeal to me I suppose.

Also, I think think is rather funny considering the topic of this month's Beer Smack: (on session beers) "It's a sound concept, and has its place. But here in the US, it's a flawed practice."

Just because one has issues with something doesn't mean that they don't enjoy that something when it's done well. There's context that went with that quote too.

Oh yeah I know; I'm not bashing session beers at all, and I read that particular piece as a bit tongue-in-cheek anyway.

In my experience though, some of my favorite "sessions" are those that were brewed with no sessionable goal in mind. Take a Berliner Weiss for example, most are very low ABV but don't necessarily broadcast themselves as a session beer. It all comes down to personal preference.

As far as Session Fest goes, one of the big reasons I won't be attending is that I think there are some kinks that still need to be worked out with these Imbibe! events. CollabFest lacked organization IMO and parts of it seemed a bit under-planned or resourced. Still, you can't beat those ticket prices!

I'm not overly familiar with their fests (as an attendee), but they reached out for assistance and I wanted to help support the local brewers pouring at the fest. I can't attend as I'll be out of town, but I look forward to the feedback.

I loved the CollabFest, and often love new, slightly chaotic or poorly publicized fests as they often are underattended...light crowds, personal time with brewery reps, no lines! Ayieee!!

Personally I think Imbibe has put the best fests on out of any events in town; unique ideas, more than just beer stations, and usually food.... to each his own though... shorter lines for me.

Definitely, to each his own. I personally found that despite somewhat shorter lines at CollabFest, it was definitely chaotic with very small signs identifying what beers were at each station and no map/loyout available so a few times it was a crap shoot when you got to the front. At least actual brewers and brewery employees were present though, unlike the 25th CO Brewer's Fest where it was all volunteers... talk about a disaster.

So is this a beer fest to go to and not get intoxicated? Play yard games sober? I'm confused.
