Anyone love Red Ales?

    A good majority of the beers mentioned here aren't at all traditional red ales. They're all really hoppy "red IPAs."

    A red ale (Fat Tire) is largely responsible for getting me in to craft beer. Although, now I don't actively seek out the style.

    Red Trolley was a gateway craft beer for me (and many San Diegans, I'd venture). The Imperial is awesome. I don't drink a ton of Karl Strauss, but the Trolley is always welcome in my fridge.

    North Coast Red Seal was another gateway beer for me. Loved it.

    I remember Lagunitas Imperial Red as a very good beer. Very easy to drink and very powerful. Have they renamed this beauty?

    Agreed. I think the OP likes hoppy beer more so than "red ales." Most are listing IPAs that happen to be the color red, not something akin to Fat Tire. This thread would be more appropriately titled, "Anyone love imperial red ales" or "anyone love red IPAs"?

    Has anyone ever had Brewing bus (cigar city) rollin dirty? it is an irish red ale and it is fantastic IMO

    I've been awaiting the return of Lagunitas Imperial Red for a few years now. Insider information alerted me of its return in the near future but I have yet to see it.

    I see you've got more than a few endorsement. I just got a fresh six in a trade and will be trying it tonight...I hope you'all are right. I'm also a big fan of Nugget Nectar & Zoe.

    Bell's This One Goes to 11 was my favorite new beer in 2012' and Bear Republic Red Rocket is outstanding!

    Nugget Nectar rules! Hopback Amber also rules because you can get it year round. I have not yet tried Lucky 13 but I have yet to have a bad beer from Lagunitas.

    Not a big red fan (Badgers, Yes!), but here are two I really liked...

    O'so Brewery's Dank Imperial Red
    Big Dog's Draft House's 38 Special (North Las Vegas, and started by Badger Football Player!)
