If you want to die, maybe....

Come out to Pittsburgh. It's a gateway to the midwest but still close enough to the coast to attract people from NY, NJ, MA, etc.

Or *****y-hookers! They are notoriiously dangerous!

Edit: somehow I've managed not to get murdered after almost 50 years of living in a city with a murder rate HIGHER than Chicagos.

    Plato, MO.

Its the mean center of US population from 2010 census.

Edit: Hartville is 2020 estimate, corrected.

Well, Kansas is the geographical centre of the country, so noone would have to travel 3000 miles to the left or right coast. Perhaps St. Louis/Kansas City, and we could all get arrested for protesting/storming Budweiser.

Chicago, or Twin Cities, would also be nice. Denver already has it's big beer festival. And coastal locations would be tough on some. Unless the bros want to put a bro on each coast and have 2 festivals??? That'd work.

The one thing that would accomplish is that West Coast brewers would only do the west show and East Coast brewers the east. Those in the middle would pick on or the other.

Love Charleston, but the rooms are incredibly expensive, as in tremendously expensive, but other than that I love the place. Food is really expensive too.

Charlotte would be good too, as would Myrtle Beach. Plenty of rooms if obviously not in season, brand new Convention Center that could be used, tons of restaurants, and things to do from kids to Pops. Off season the rates are killer friendly. Airport too, not just puddle jumpers either.

Homer vote for sure, but Des Moines would probably surprise some of you with the scene downtown, low cost of, well, everything, and budding beer culture. Could probably rent some festival grounds for nearly nothing, and the turnout would be crazy since the big name music acts tend to go from Twin Cities to KC, and skip over us (less entertainment $$ competition locally). Oh, and we have TG in our back yard. Kind of.

Is this going to be a one and done type deal, or are you planning on traveling the festival? I'd like to it rotate throughout the country every other year while going back to Boston every other year.

As for the Twin Cities holding it I'm sure it could be done logistically. However, I don't think the Minnesota brewing scene is quite ready for it yet. We've had an explosion of new breweries open up in the past couple years (like a lot of other areas across the country), and I think it would be nice to give them a little more time to mature, and perfect their craft before presenting their wares to a national audience. We also still have a number of outdated laws that would get in the way of some people' fun (i.e. no Sunday sales).

I like Las Vegas too. Plenty of rooms, and gambling. It would be great to have the fest in a casino, you wouldn't have to leave the building.

You're actually correct. The part near Comerica is very nice. I'm not sure about everywhere else, though.

Grand Rapids is the second largest city in Michigan. It (and it's surrounding cities) could certainly handle the facility(s) and hotel and restaurant accommodations, West Michigan is known for its tourist trade after all. However, the Gerald R Ford International Airport, while the 2nd largest in Michigan after Detroit Metro, is still just a mid-size airport with about 2.5 million passengers per year compared to over 15 mil per year in Detroit or 32 mil per year at Chicago O'Hare. GR is about halfway between Chicago and Detroit (approximately 160-170 miles from each).

So, that means your post was meaningless as well.
I'm just kidding man. I wouldn't go back to Chicago though.
It's called the windy city because it blows.
