All true (though I'd add that some of their non-fruit one-off "Thumbprint" brews like Wild Sour are also outstanding), with a caveat: NG has apparently stopped making Belgian Red and possibly Raspberry Tart at least until the fall, and one or both have disappeared already from many shops, so if you want to get your hands on some in the next few months I'd suggest looking into setting up a trade ASAP.

My neighbors son lives in Wisconsin and is bringing my all four fruit beers and Berliner Weisse from New Glarus sometime in August. I can't wait.

I'm glad to hear it ... I've got LOTS of opinions, and I genuinely like sharing them in the hope that someone will appreciate it, but I often feel like (commonly for a good reason) it's not only unappreciated it's taken as me being condescending or know-it-all, which maybe the the effect but is never the intent. Good luck acquiring some, and if you're out near Philly anytime soon, I'm sitting on a Serendipity and a Strawberry Rhubarb that I could crack open as long as the wife is around (she loves them too, so I can't open them without her).

Totally agree, the Apple ale could be bottled in a 750ml with wax and no one would bat an eye (that one might actually be my wife's favorite of theirs), and Wild Sour is fan-freaking-tastic. I didn't care too much for Imperial Weizen, but Berliner Weiss is one of the better ones of that style I've had. I've got a dubbel in the fridge that I just got recently as well, and hear great things about the new DIPA.

That's a shame to hear about the WBR and RT, I suppose there can only be so much of such a specific fruit ingredient.

Looking forward to you joining @heystevec, @devilfluff, @_RL_ and I at Tired Hands on @_RL_'s return trip from VT ... Locals meet up anyone?

Wow, I can't believe I missed the 2000th post like that, I had my eye on it earlier, and then I guess got wrapped up in the conversation

OK -- so I arrived home to find a very large (that's a good thing), very wet (not such a good thing), very smelling-of-beer (normally good, but not in this case) box on my front porch.

And by the way, when I realized I was receiving from Michigan, I had mixed emotions -- I have had a lot of (and enjoyed!) a pretty big selection from Bells and Founders, and was worried I would be getting a bunch of stuff I liked, but had already had. That turned out NOT to be the case. And as promised, @I_BYE_MI_BEER exceeded expectations -- to start off...

L-R these are all things I've never had, and appear to be components of a nice summer 6
Shorts Prolonged Enjoyment Session IPA - session IPA's are always a good thing
Shorts Pandemonium Pale Ale - another presumably easy-drinking APA that I've never had
Shorts Key Lime Pie - this is one I'm curious about, but will make sure I have something to share it with "just in case"
Greenbush Broken Promises - this is a Pale Wheat Ale -- never heard of it, but I'm looking forward to a new experience

There was also a nice collection of stickers and coasters (partially shown in the front)

And by the way, the 5th beer I would have included in this picture was a totally pulverized bottle that I think said "Citra Ale" as part of the name, it looked like the bottle had exploded -- I'm actually surprised they delivered the box. But I'm obviously glad they did :-)

    The rest of the haul:

    L-R again
Prairie/Evil Twin Bible Belt!!! Holy Crap!!! HUGE want -- I am so psyched to try this.
Bell's Expedition Stout - another want -- I think this is the only Bell's beer I have not been able to chase down
Revolution Brewing Citra-Hero - I've never heard of this, but everything about it sounds perfect -- and a 7.5% bomber is perfect for a special occasion -- this and the broken bottle probably complete the mini 6
Bell's Black Note Stout - I have never tried this, but actually have another in inventory -- and that was when a bottle shop near me had a lottery, and I got to choose between about 6 beers they had gotten VERY limited quantities of -- the fact that I chose Black Note is all you need to know about how much I appreciate getting more
Founders KBS - I don't think I even need to comment

So in addition to the mini 6, @I_BYE_MI_BEER threw me 4 amazing stouts -- I was thinking of changing my profile picture again, but if my current one earned me this haul I might keep it. And again, I will be passing some of this wonderful beer karma on. Thanks again!

There's two Minnesota guys in the BIF, both of which (I think are from the Twin Cities), plus I'm there almost every week. Wisconsin is only a half hour away in the form of Cassanova's in Hudson, so if you're interested, I'm sure something can be worked out.

I didn't realize that Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart might be done until Fall. I have one of each sitting around at the moment.

From what I gather, American Pale Wheat Ale is one of those 'catch-all' styles that has a pretty broad definition, things like Lagunitas' Little Sumpin Sumpin, Bell's Oberon, Sam Adams Summer Ale, Harpoon UFO Hefeweizen (?), and Gumballhead are all in this style on BA. It seems to mean "made with wheat and is a hoppy beer" with "hoppy" ranging from "there's hops in it" to "super hoppy like an IPA minus any bitterness"

re: the 6 bottle lottery, what were the other 5?

    God DAMN It.

You lost an Odd Side Citra Pale Ale, that would have been the sixth with the Citra Hero - a really fresh one too...

the four stouts were the extras, I'm sorry Mike, I still have your address- will fill that box my man - have NO idea how that happened and the others were fine.

    Cheers!

I have Pron to share as well:slight_smile:

The bottle decided it just couldn't bear to contain the awesomeness any longer and sacrificed itself to share the treasure it held within

It's just a shame it couldn't commit the ultimate sacrifice into Mike's belly...

    Coward bottle.

    Sigh...

So @rspauldi did this to me today:

    Left to Right:

Deep Ellum Dream Crusher: I told @Thanx4AllDaFish it was one of the better IPA I had all year
Sain Arnold Endeavor: Never turn down a Mid 90's rated IPA - Ever
JK Nocturn - Are you kidding me?
Perennial Love Child 4 - Unbelievable, are you looking into my brain?
Karbach Hop Delusion - Another IPA I can't wait to crush.
Victory Dirt Wolf - I don't get this beer fresh often - but when I see it, I crush it.

I'm crushed - what an awesome box man...

    Thank you.

    Cheers!

Don't worry about the one beer -- you exceeded "requirements" and I have plenty to drink for now :-)

Although I was afraid that might be what it was; other than "citr" the bottle was completely illegible...
