One should be able to drink a beer that matches the season? So, for us in Florida, we'll only be drinking pilsners, session IPAs, and the occasional saison, right? And CCB should discontinue all beers outside of those styles, right?

Please. It gets down into the low eighties in October if we're lucky.

Funny how so many craft lovers seem to want to make it "drink what's hip and in style" versus "drink what you enjoy." They would do well in an AB marketing department somewhere.

i don't understand why people get so upset about pumpkin beer coming out too early. don't buy it! there are far more important things to get upset about than a beer with a particular flavor coming out too early. the funny thing is pumpkin is relatively flavorless. So maybe all the complaining should be "nutmeg and allspice beers are coming out way too early."

Personally, I have nothing against the Great Pumpkin. It makes a fine pie and a scary jack o'lantern. But Good Gawd! It ain't beer makin' material!

Good Gourd is awesome!!! I think you'll never want to go back to Pumpking after trying the Gourd.

I second this. I tried Good Gourd last fall and it was delicious and easily became my favorite with the style.

How does outside temperature determine drinking a pumpkin brew?

Does no one drink stouts in the spring and summer? Plenty of KBS events throughout the summer.

I'm sure a brewery or two will brew pumpkin beer year round if there's a good demand for it.

Another dumb thread. Don't buy it if you don't like it.

I don't understand why people get so upset about people getting so upset about pumpkin beers coming out so early.

Seriously though, I think a lot of it stems from two reasons:
1- BA folks usually care about freshness, which most of these will not be during actual fall season. When I think pumpkins, I think Halloween and Thanksgiving!
2- forget about freshness. Some of these beers will be plain gone later in fall.

Any pumpkin beer fans who have not tried Williamsburg Alewerks Pumpkin need to make that a top priority this July.

Definitely number 2. I love Fall and get excited when Pumpkin beers come out, because I know it is a sign cooler breezes will be here in a month or so. However, when I go to buy a 6 pack for Thanksgiving and sometimes even Halloween, It sucks when you have one, 2, or zero pumpkin choices left.
