I don't mean being a member of this website. We all know that has no downsides. I mean being someone who loves and advocates for craft beer. For me, it is the rarity and unobtainablness of epic and amazing beer I always hear about but will never drink. I wish craft distribution were more widespread.

For me it's knowing that having high standards means that I'm frequently disappointed.

The fact that it prevents me from having any sort of long-term savings plan

Least favorite things about being a BA:
    1. The expensiveness of some beers!!
    2. Balancing health and drinking!!
    3. Price gouging on beers that are already expensive!!

I understand your frustration, but the rarity of some beers is what makes this hobby so fun! If they were available everywhere it wouldn't be nearly as exciting.

As for me I would have to say the cost of good beer and the fact that I have to limit the number of beers I drink to maintain myself in decent shape

Computer mouse usage from visiting the website has caused carpal-tunnel syndrome, which sometimes makes it uncomfortable to hold certain styles of beer glasses.

Don't sweat it. If you feel uncomfortable not swimming with whales, just wade around with all of the really good beer available every day. Hype is mesmeric and confusing.

I'm kind of against this notion that everything needs to be distributed everywhere, and I think that's one of the greatest things about where we are in the story. I'm quite fine in knowing there's all this beer that is crazy good that I'll never get to try because it is NOT distributed outside of its locality or region, and i think that's actually a great thing.

Seeing people walk into any supermarket to buy cold 30pks for $12 and knowing they are completely content while I'm next door at the liquor store spending $100 for way less (usually warm) beer and knowing that I may be disappointed to the extent of a drain pour.

I would also have to add...all the times I hand a non-craft drinker a really good beer and they think it's disgusting swill and quickly rinse with their cheap light beer.

    1. Dings the bank account more than I'd like
    2. Puts/keeps on the weight way more than I'd like
    3. Takes up all my fridge space which pisses off my girlfriend! :grinning:

Get the impression that some people think I'm have a holier than thou attitude towards beer (I don't)
Despite further conversation with said persons, can't seem to shake that. :slight_frown:

I'd have to say the snarky comments I get from BMC Lite guy when he finds out I like craft beer. Which side is really the snobbish one? I have trouble telling sometimes.

My least favorite thing is being judged by other BA's because I am not a beer snob. I like good beer and I like cheap beer. And I hate drain pouring.

Pretty much the same things I was thinking.

I'll add one. Spending good money on a highly regarded beer that I end up not liking and drain pouring.

I agree with weight gain. In fact to keep it under control I do my time each morning going down and then back up the hill I live on. that hill is going to kill me one of these days but not before I suffer all the good health. I won't even tell you what I spent on beer this month. If I ever see a whale I am going to buy it. :sunglasses:
